The features are good and the desing is great. I like it very much. I must but admitt that it's kind of slow sometimes. And btw, do you know vhich games work on this phone? (.jar doesn't work)

I've owned this phone for a few months. Spec wise it's good. Unfortunately it's SLOW.
It's the most frustrating phone I've ever owned.
I've REALLY tried to speed it up:
- I've de-branded the phone's firmware to Samsung default (to get rid of the slow theme)
- I've turned off the key sounds (moving around on the menus it waits for the sound to finish before doing anything)
- I've switched to custom theme (all the built-in ones have fancy clocks and things on the main screen which slow it down considerably)
It's still slow. It's like they've tried to make it as slow as possible.
Unlocking is a case in point. It used to be Menu then * on my previous Samsung. I could do it milliseconds.
They've ruined it to be * for two seconds but only when no menus are prompts are active does it work. So you press a key and find your mobile is locked and it pops up a message saying "Press * for two seconds" so you have to wait 4 seconds for the message to disappear and then press * for two seconds. 6-8 seconds to unlock! Ahhgg.

muhammad abrar hussa, 14 Mar 2009dear my name is muhammad abrar hussain and i want to buy this phone samsung u 800 soul. plz te... moremuhammad, you can,t make mistake if you buy it! only you can have a blister on your thumb in first few days (joke,joke..) but in time you will get used on that, and the buttons will "soften" in time, j hope too!! but it is a sturdy "heavy-metal" phone for respect! and, all in one: -massive, metal, thin, but beautifull...

j just come home with brand new u800, and spent some 3 hours "playing" with it. all metal, massive, exactly what j like... good camera, fantasic display. the only thing j do mind is "little"-too much hard buttons for typing messages, but appereance is avesome! beautifully designed phone! just check out the memory... 1g.. j vote 10+...

Did anyone see a _JAVA_ app using bluetooth successfully on U800 for anything at all? All java test run on the phone report JSR82 (bluetooth API) as 1.0 present, yet all java apps fail to open bluetooth. BT works normally with the phone's integrated services (file transfer etc.), but not at all through java. I'm trying to connect to my external BT GPS with various java map-apps supporting that, but none is able to.

This are the best Samsung Ever.It can mxit.And the sound problem get the code`s it works.Camare are very good.Print it and se your selfs.

rubbish phone...looks are deceiving
reasons:
1. the phone is slow and menus sluggish
2. the phone scratches very easily
3. limited tweaking/personalization
4. drops calls unexpectedly
5. bad reception....worst ever
this phone looks brilliant but unfortunately looks can make up for it's major flaws. it's like a ferrari with a vw beetle engine....ridiculous
