I am doing more exploring with the phone right now and do like it, just a few issues here and there. Probably not issues to most people but I guess we may be a bit more picky : )
I do find it odd that everytime the phone is closed for more than 5 seconds or so you have to open it or go through a seriesof buttons to use it in the closed position. Very bizarre.

Sorry Stephen, there is no lock disable i can find... but i'm still playing w/ mine so if i find it i'll tell you. But try they hack it may be in there. and if you screw up you can just reset it to how it was before w/o losing memory.

hi, please can anyne tell me how to lock my U900 so that I have to put a code in each time i go to use it, and so it locks automaticaly after say 30 seconds.

Had the phone 4 months now and love it. Confused with sms storage though. I get a message saying inbox full, delete some sms, but on the memory status, it will show 285/500. Can anyone please help??? It's a contract phone on vodafone.

OK, cheers for the information about the clock bar.
One more thing though, Is there a way to disable the keypad lock that happens when the phone is closed.
While the phone is closed the keypad lock seems to automatically come on, even to navigate using the touchpad I have to go through a process of unlocking the phone just to use the touch pad !!
I have looked in the menu and it says the keypadlock is off.
Anyone ?

is this scratch proof? or it is the same with u700 in which the side of the phone can get scratches easily? how about the pink u900 soul?.. pls help. im about to buy but need to kn ow first your opinion about its metallic finish.. coz, my ipod touch (back- metallic) have so many scratches (even taken cared of)

hay, i'm thinking to buy u900, i have some questions:
1-what is the time of battery working after full charge?
2-what about dropping it? my old phone was dropped for more than 30 times in 2 years and stii working good? will u900 be as this?
3-can i put message in special folders i make?
4-really it doesn't have caller ID ?????????????????????????????????????????
5-what about its sound?
6-what about price "in dubai for example"?
7- is all buttons" keypad" are by touch? or only upper ones are by touct?

No you can't remove the clock in the top band, and yes the SOUL can handel an 8gb san disk micro sd.

Has anyone, anywhere figured out how (if) you can remove the clock/date bar that goes across the upper part of the standby screen ?
It is ridiculous that there does not appear to be an option to hide it. It essentially means that there are always 2 different clocks on your standby screen. What was Samsung smoking when they devised this ?? The most pointless thing I have seen on a mobile yet.
Other than that this is a great phone.
Any recent firmware upgrades to correct this ?

Here's how to make your Soul louder.

Making your Samsung Soul MP3 and Ringrone Louder

- Type *#0002*28346#.
- It will bring up a menu.
- Load Params.
- Dump Params.
- Call Config.
- Press Back & it will bring up another longer menu.
- Key in 3 to bring up SPK Config Menu.
- Then key in 4 to bring up have-QTune (MP3) menu.
- Key in 1 to bring up SPK MP3 Vol. Menu.
- Key in 6 to change the max. Volume.
- Input 40 & press OK, it will change to 4.0db default max. Volume is 3db. I wouldn't recommend higher than 6.0db because the sound will distort, anything lower will be fine.
- Once done, press cancel to close the service menu & try to play a MP3 with max. Volume. This volume apply for your MP3 Ringtones & Message tones.

Anonymous, 03 Oct 2008is there a case for this phone?I got a case for my D900, it's a rigid case with a flip over top with a magnetic catch. When i got my U900 it also fitted straight in. Got it from Carphone Warehouse (Am I allowed to say that??)
