Hi, does anyone know if you can set the phone to ringtone and vibrate at the same time?

On my old Samsung the phone would Vibrate for 6 seconds first before the ringtone started ringing.

Thanks for any help.

This is the most elegant handset i have ever owed: Beautiful and shiny body, secondary adaptive keypad( the first in the world), solid build with the right weight.

I have no dramas with its volume qualities: Crispy clear voice during call and high-quality music playing in loudspeaker mode.

For those who have owned a faulty unit, it is a pity...

This phone is fantastic. Bought it two days ago and have been tinkering with it since.

Found no problems so far. Volume is ok. Pictures are crisp and fabulous, especially in macro mode. Took close-ups of flowers and they're beautiful and vivid. The camera for me is the best feature of this phone.

Am also loving the touch pad. It's a novel experience, engaging all your senses--visually, touch-wise and audibly.

I can hear the caller clearly and he can hear me quite well too. Maybe those in this forum who can't hear well have defective units.

But yes, it's a pity that the volume control is located too near the headset plug. It's hard to adjust the volume when the headset is plugged in. This is a minor thing for me though. How often do you adjust volumes when listening to music?

This is my first Samsung phone, and it's been great! Wonderful! Thanks, Samsung people :-)

And while am at it...hey guys, if you have this phone, you have lots to be thankful for. Think of all those starving children in Africa. Just be thankful. It'll make you a happier person :-) Peace! :-)

Comparing the U900 to the U600.
E-mail:
On the U900, you are not allowed the capability on a POP server to download the latest e-mails. After you delete the messages from your phone and want to download new messages, it will automatically repopulate with the same messages that were previously downloaded(unless you choose to delete the old messages from the server, which then you will not be able to view them on your home computer.) The U600 allowed just that. I miss that feature.

My Files:
The U900 does not do a good job at organizing the files between your memory card and the phone. There isn't a menu for listing everything that's on your memory card. It's mixed with the other files that are on your phone. There is a small card "icon" that lets you know on what interface the file is located on. The U600 did a marvelous job organizing the files in their appropriate locations.

On-call speaker volume:

Many have said that the U900 has poor speaker quality during a call and it is very true. Although the speaker is wonderful when you play music on the phone. Yet again, the U600 trumps the U900 3/0 thus far.

Ringtone formats:

Both the U600 and U900 support the file formats (AAC/AAC+/MP3/WMA). On the U900, when you want to select a WMA file for a message alert, for example, it will not work. It then must be MP3 format. Likewise with the alarm tone settings. The U600 allowed for any of the 4 formats to be used however the user wished.

Keypad:

Here is where the U900 starts claiming some points. The keypad on the U900 is wider and more text/e-mail friendly vs. the U600.

Camera quality:

A breath taking 5MP camera on the U900 that takes exceptional photos...however, when you zoom in, the photos become very grainy upon zooming and after the picture is taken, the quality of the photo clears up somewhat. No matter how much you zoomed in with the U600, it still granted you a beautiful photo having only 3.2MP.

Those were just some of my personal pros and cons with the U900. Definitely a great buy, however I wish they transfered over some of these features so I don't miss the U600 too much.

i think think the U900 is hard to use
texting is a nightmare
as some users will no
you have to slide phone up to make call
try and shut it it cuts call off
ringing volume is rubbish and so is vibration
sound from speaker on phone is rubbish although top music hifi maker has put name to phone
unless you are taking still pictures camara is useless
try taking photo of kids dog you have no chance as U900 takes about 20 seconds to take photo
by then kids have left home and dog is half way across the park
if you like taking pictures of buyildings or wax works them maybe good phine for you
i have post question about moving music from comp to phone
i had nokia put disk in comp had no probs useing software
U900 is useless
been trying for 4 days still cant put music on phone
i should have sent U900 back as soon as i got it
it took 1 day before top and screen scratched
had to by a cover
the only good thing is its battery life
sorry to say ive been mugged of buying the U900
they are the same as microsoft
send out rubbish not good technoligy
then wait for complains
look at 50 odd pages of questions and answers
then look up nokia phones
hardly any
looks like im going back to nokia
samsung are rubbish
i dont want phone to look good
i want phone that says what it does on the box to be that good
errickson or nokia tried and test
much better then samsung
