I been with the same phone company for over 10 years. any boby remember voice stream? thats right , now we call it T-mobile. i love T- mobile untill i stated traveling with work in the last few years. Every body around me could talk on the cell but me! I have a few months on my contract n im going to viron n get me a kool phone.I really got exited when i saw the HTC2, but the windows? nope ! so now the samsung with out flash the screen ect! so, i made up my mind n moving all 5 of my lines !
ok, thanks for the info but, im not trying to take a picture of the sky ! i want to see real pictures like inside of a club,bar , or a dark room with your girl .. i still think that you need a flash for good facial pictures!

I emailed to several people at TCO, all emails bounced - some in vacations, some are not there anymore.
I will repeat, the brightness of Super-AMOLED pixels is still far from being "Super". It is easy to understand that when you take your cell phone on the streets. The regular white paper there is by far brighter then any modern displays.

Screen dangerous? Did you receive the respond from TCO ? Please shut up before that with your speculations. Or until you yourself find the UV emitting level of the screen. Initially I thought you are reasonable but you started to annoy even me. And i am probably the only one who is still partially on your side (before we find if the screen really emits UVs).
I get a lot of emails on a regular basis and I am used to the blackberry function of email, does any on know how to make the incoming emails more effecient on this phone. I never get any because it takes so long to download them.

Once a technology is released all measures which may protect the customers will be from case to case applied or not. They may use glass for this phone release and plastic for the next one and nobody can check all thousands of phones coming from Asian market; the only safety can be taken by choosing the right technology which doesn't need UV filters or other protective materials which are up to the conscience of fabricant included.
Which brand makes the best screen protectors? The ones which do not have dithering effect (visible as "dancing" of colors as you slightly tilt the cellphone, specifically visible on white background)?
May be we have to make UV protectors :)

Do you you dude mean that electrons and holes are fermions with half integer spin, an exciton may either be in a singlet state or a triplet state depending on how the spins of the electron and hole have been combined? Statistically three triplet excitons will be formed for each singlet exciton. And that tje decay from triplet states is spin forbidden, limiting the internal efficiency of fluorescent devices. Cool down, this is electroluminiscence. And Anonymous is right, whatever it emits may go hit your eye and skin. As opposed to LCD the fluorescent backlit light of is re-emitted light, hence it has much less UV. LED backlit may not have it completely.
Just wait until TCO responds, i wrote them and publish their respond. They have strict requirements in Sweden. Also in Germany. The cr@p would not come through unnoticed since Galaxy was first introduced in Europe.
As Anonymous correctly mentioned the decay of excited state results in a relaxation of the energy levels of the electron, accompanied by emission of radiation in the visible region. Or it could be in UV.
But the frequency of this radiation depends on the band gap of the material. And if this is true it
1) could be that nothing is emitted beyond the gap, i.e. blue pixel frequencies 0.43 micron. So we will have not just small but exactly ***zero*** UV and zero harm. None.
2) besides glass itself is not transparent for UVB
3) if screen emits UVA, NUV, UVB then i hope Samsung hired not complete id!ots and added to the glass UV absorbers which is very easy to do since UV filters are known for centuries in photography.
