To FSK: I think the usb cable of X700 will work with all samsung phones since i have checked it with D600 and D500... and it works well for data transfer... All these phones uses same usb cable and it is included in the kit of X700 so i don't know the exact price. ( USMAN )
Hello Mr. Usman,
Could you plz tell me that what kind of usb data cable are you using? is it a general usb to usb cable? or a specific Samsung X700 data cable? and how much it cost you?
Here is the WAP content upload site..U can try it for urself and tell me ur experience! :)
Sir Usman, I am having the same exact problem as mentioned by Waqas.. There is a site where u can go and upload ur files. When the file is uploaded then u are given a WAP downlaod link.. The other day I tried downloading some JAR files to my X700. The file upload is completed. Now when I enter the download link in the browser of X700, after connecting to Internet for sometimes it say Unsupported Content.. ! Any Idea sir why is this happening???
By default, TELENOR gives you active GPRS connection.... May be, the page you are trying to open is not a wap page or not supported by wap browser.... Try to change the home page to http://wap.google.com
and go to this page and see if it works or not.... Also check that the “E” logo of EDGE in red colour is present when you are trying to access internet.... ( telenor has EDGE service.... the faster GPRS version! ).... ( USMAN )
I've tried downloading the software you recommended to me but it didn't work. I finally gave up. So, I'm asking if any of you know where can I find for vibrating MP3s for my phone's ringing tones? Thanks in advance.
hi,i am using telenor and i have X700 but when i connected to GPRS its says un-supportd content.how cna i solve this issue.
To Nicole :
Yes.... PSM Player only supports MMF and MIDI ringtones and does not support MP3 or WAV files.... But there is a freeware software named “One Click Ringtones” which can convert MP3 into ringtones files.... It's home page address is : http://www.monkeybongo.com/
I still not used this software but found after searching of only 1 minute on google!.... Try it and please inform the ringtones conversion results.... Thanks!

I've read your post regarding the vibrating ringing tones but I've tried google and searching for device which I can convert my MP3 into MMF because PSM player only supports MMF, isn't it? Everything needs to be paid, even the free trial only converts 1 second of MP3 into MMF! My gosh! I would really appreciateif anyone can give me a solution. Thanks.
The default USB Setting for X700 is “Modem”..... After using USB mass storage option, Use safely disconnect hardware option ( in system tray ). When drive is safely disconnected, then, remove usb cable from X700 and again connect it OR just change the USB Setting to “Modem”……Samsung PC Studio will quickly recognize your set..... I am using this for last 3 or 4 months..... and EVERY TIME it recognize my X700 in my first attempt!....

i have problem connecting to the Samsung PC studio. my usb cable works fine when using it as MASS STORAGE, but when using as MODEM option the Samsung PC studio pics up the connection after many attepmts and some other times those attempts are all in vain.
is thr any particular way to connect it???
To Nicole :
You can use vibrating ringtones on X700 which can ring and vibrate at the same time.... For making vibrating ringtones , read my previous post on September 15, 2006..... Thanks!

Yes .... You can access internet from PC using X700's internet connection....First of all, install Samsung PC Studio 3.0 software from CD of X700.... For info about how to do this, read my previous post on August 24, 2006.... Now, connect your X700 with PC using usb cable and open the software... You will see “SGH-X700 Connected” message .... Now, click “Manage Internet Connections” icon.... You will see a networking wizard .... Just click “Next” button.... Now select “Create a new connection” option.... and click “Next” button.... Now, enter the connection name in the textbox ( enter any name as you like).... and click “Next” button.... Now, select the modem (Samsung Mobile USB Modem 1.0) to be used for internet connection .... Click “Next” button....Select the country name and your Service Provider's name... if not listed your country's name then select country name as “Others”.... Enter APN name of your service provider.... (you can get this by going to wap browser (on X700).... profile settings....select your wap profile....go to GPRS Settings.... APN Name)
Enter this phone number : *99**1*1#
Click “Next” then again click “Next” button.... Now click “Finish” button.... You will see a Networking Wizard dialog box that “ If you connect to the internet via your phone, PC Studio will be disconnected. Do You want to connect to the Internet?.... If you want to connect now, click “Yes” button.... You will see connect dialog box .... Just Click “Dial” button.... With in 5-6 seconds, your PC will be connected at 460kb/s speed.... but use this connection only for emergency purpose.... because it is very very costly as compared when you use gprs ( by wap browser / opera mini ) on X700....

Hello, I'm a proud user of X700 bought this phone in Feb 06. However, the vibration+ringing really bugging me because it seems no way I can customize it. So, if anyone of you has the solutions, please do not mind to share with me. Waiting for the replies. Thanks. :)
Can anyone please tell me if I can access the internet from my PC through this mobile?
To Muhammad Jameel:
Open your wap browser of X700 and type this address : http://wap.getjar.com
Now go to “Samsung SGH X700 Software” link.... Till now, there are 892 softwares/ games available for X700.... Just click on any software's link.... and there is no need to worry about jad/jar files..... You will see a new page for your desired software.... You can see the file size of software in KB.... Click “Download to mobile” link.... This will download and install the software into your X700 directly.....

To Atanas :
You must use GPRS connection to access internet using Java server .... It means that you are still unable to use any java application which requires internet access!.... Can you see “G” logo in red colour when using wap? If yes, then you are using GPRS connection.....
There is no way to use X700 in plane mode .... or even if there is any code then i don't know....
opera mini cannot open web pages which are on your “other files” folder.... since it can open any web page present on internet!
