I bought this phone a week ago and i love it- some features take a bit of effort to set up but in the end it is worth it. It is true that the battery isnt amazing, but if you are constantly playing mp3s, talking to people and using the net, its gonna wear down- the battery hasnt been a problem for me.
Anyway- i have a question for anyone out there who has a z500 and uploads videos on to it- anyone know how to upload more than 6MB a go? The PC studio 2.0.9 from samsung has this maximum upload per time for a video. Any other software to use? Any help would be appreciated.
this phone is great, it has everything you need except radio. besides that also great design and good feeling of quality!!! if you want a quality phone you go for a samsung!
DRAGOS...
I have just got the sony ericcson k750i, and I think this phone would definately cover all he requirements u want. I love it, its the best phone ive ever had. Check out the spec and reviews, cant fault them!!!
I liked this phone and I don't know wich one is better from Motorola V3, Samsung Z500, Samsung E640, and Panasonic VS3! And i'm not looking for the design of the phone i'm looking at a phone that can make videos, photos, that have mp3, the memory has to me kind a big, that have infrared port, and the battery has to be also good! I think that's all ! Could you help me !! PLS.. !!! HELP !!!
personally I wouldnt recommend this phone. There are loads of better phones on the market that maybe dont have 3g, bt there features are better quality. If 3g is a necessity for you then I wouldnt recommend this phone!Thats my opinion anyway.
I am thinking of buying this phone but i am now worried about the comments about its poor battery life, is it really that bad?! would you recommend this phone? thanks
Well it's apparently due for Australian release within the next month, but I think Vodafone is saving it for the Aus 3G release, which is in October.
Might just have to order one from the US or something.
If you have network strength problems, can't you manually set it to the network? 3G works on a different band, so surely you can set it to the 2G network
Bon, it was out on o2 in late June/early July
I wana ask you some questions about Z500 because I want to buy one and I'm need someone to tell me if is a good sellphone, if you can record more than 5 min. with the video-camera, and if is better than Motorola V3 !!! Could u answer this questions for me?! Pls...
Try going to profiles and setting it to the tone through that
I've just got the Samsung Z500V (all black - on vodafone) and for the life of me i cannot set the full song tracks i downloaded as my ringtone? help!? there is simply no option i can see to say "set as ringtone" the songs got saved into "sounds" file, also two of my tracks keep asking me to activate key or something through vodafone live but so far this hasn't worked... if anyone can help i'd be grateful.
I have had the z500 for 2 weeks now, and i think i have made a mistake.
First of all the signal strength is poor. It's a 3g handset, so if there is just a shread of 3g in the area, it will run off that, instead of choosing the trustworthy stronger 2.5g.
The video calling is amazing. Really good quality, and the battery life is not bad - all day no problem, with loads of video and MP3.(did all you miserable gits remember to charge it for 16 hours when you had it?)
Its the lightest 3g handset and having the news send direct to the phone is great. Not only that, you can watch big bro live(if that's your thing) or even watch the cricket.
But my signal strength is bad at times, which really puts me off.
Long live the 8910i
I have a vodafone z500 and the clock jumps around rendering the alarm useless.
Can anybody tell me how to fix this? Can I replace the obviously faulty Vodafone firmware with Samsung firmware - and if so, how?
Well the only thing deterring me from this phone is the battery life.
I will probably be listening to MP3's for 2 hours a day, so how many hours standby could I get out of it as well? Also, can you get a different battery with more charge or something?
wat u can do is find a converter and convert it to have volume boost this is what i did i downloaded smartmovie for symbian converted a movie file (from .mpg to avi with 500% volume boost then i used a mp3 converter to GET the audio only and make it mp3 format) now i have no problems its seem that sound quality (if loud) is better than my 6600 nokia
Well, I too have recently just got this phone from Vodaphone. I agree that the ringtones are not very loud, even if you have set them at the loudest tone, so if anyone has any tips, please let us know, but apart from that, phone seems quite good...once I get the hang of all it can do.
I've not had any bugs with my Z500V. The only cons I have so far is the battery life and quietish ringtone.
I get over 2.5 hours of mp3 listening, an hour or so of calls, daily alarms, keeping it on all the time I get just over 2 days before it dies completely.
Nathan, the Voda version of the Z500 is supposedly not very good, because they use a buggy Vodafone-only firmware. The O2 version IMO is very good. Battery life is OK, obviously battery life could always be better, but I keep mine on solidly and it lasts quite a long time
I have been using my z00v (for vodafone) for the last 10 days.
Pros : sound quality, easy use of the menu, solid hardware, size of the phone, weight of the phone only 95 g, quality of photo and video, possibility to use additional memory card
Cons : new on the market, that means still some bugs in the firmware, like the clock jumping back and forth, then alarm clock not usable, battery life... a real disaster, with 15 minutes of call, 15 minutes of games and 15 minutes of video, my battery is two third empty at 5 pm, and I unplugged from charger at 7 am.
