Everyone thought 2016 was not good for Samsung following the Note7 troubles. But the Korean company has numbers to prove us wrong.
Today it revealed that the IT & Mobile Communications (IM) division had KRW23.61 trillion in consolidated revenue ($18,8 billion) and KRW2.50 trillion ($2 billion) in operating profit for the last quarter of 2016.
The fourth quarter saw higher market demand for smartphones and tablets on year-end peak seasonality. Samsung kept high sales numbers of the flagship Galaxy S7 and S7 edge as well as improved profitability in the mid-to-low end segment.
Samsung’s newsroom tells us:
Samsung will look to reinforce its market leadership and drive growth in the premium smartphone segment with differentiated design and innovative features.
The company also plans to enhance the competitiveness of its mid-to-low end models by introducing water and dust-proof features and fingerprint recognition.
If this said that Samsung lost $2B in profits the number of comments here (especially from haters) would be 6x more than it already is hahaha
*Sigh* When will haters learn not to underestimate SamKing?
