is your mp3 higher than 192bitrate? or is it in vbr? that could be the reason why it won't play. so far, i don't have any problem with my mp3s if i keep it within 192bitrate.
i havnt got a mini sd card yet, i was hoping to get the wap working first and then buy it. but now since wap etc wont work i guess i will have to buy a mini sd card and reader.
have you ever encountered a situation where you put an mp3 song in the phone but it say 'cannot play'?
i guess thats the problem with buying a japanese phone or a overseas phone. But im wondering how come it works in HK if it is a japanese phone? i think the HK people modified it? or is it because both countries are in asia?
in HK all the options work properly but now back in Sydney wap, mms etc dont work, vodafone dont know how to fix it either :(
yes, i dont know how to online either.
i have one question.
sometimes for certain mp3 songs that i put in the phone, i cannot play it. how come?
I'd bought the SX313 version of the 703 in Hong Kong and is using this in the US. However, I am having problem using the URL to go online. Does anyone have any suggestion? Do I need to setup my WAP? Is my internet setting incorrect?

Hi, I have a Sharp 903 and i can tell you that this Sharp 703 aint a poor mans 3g!!! this little puppy rocks the world 3g, it gives the Samsung Z500 a run for it's money, I think that this phone is the next best thing from the 903, if 903 didnt have a 3.2MP camera i would have this phone... Go 703 YOU ROCK!!!
i got a 1gb card for it and it works very well. i see someone calling this phone a poor man's 3g phone but this poor man's 3g phone is a lot better than some of the so-called highend 2.5g phone. :p
what is the max size of mini sd this phone can use? 1gb? and what is recommended?
i was thinking of just buying a 512mb, 256 or even a 128mb...is that enough? i dont really want to use it as mp3 player just sometimes play some songs
why did the mods delete my previous post?
anyway sorry mik, i read your comments wrong...
does anyone know why the jap version dont come with a miniSD card and the UK version does?
mik, how do you type in japanese?
my phone can only type traditional and simplified chinese.
no my phone does not let me type japanese.
your phone is european version, so everything is ok. it is only us japanese version people that have the problem with ringtones
Just to add that I create my own clips from mp3's using a freeware program called mp3splitter (first result on google). The tracks work fine as ringtones on my 703.
I have no problems assigning mp3 ringtones, I have a vodafone UK version bought when it was first released, so unless they have changed the copyright features in later software it should play ANY mp3 as a ringtone. The only thing you need to make sure is that the track has been saved to the phone memory. It will not let you assign any track or video that is on the memory card.
I hope this helps.
hi mik and everyone,
Yes, I can find some shops in HK that sells the japanese version with japanese manuals, but they have all been re-installed with the Chinese/English operating systems, ie. it cannot type japanese etc. They say the networks are only compatible with the Chinese/English operating systems since it is designed to interface with HK networks and specific services.
Mik... does your phone lets you type japanese??
