To Walker. You can use it in the US as long as it is unlocked to any network as it is quadband . It is available anywhere-even on ebay- but go for any online dealer. Ask specifically for non-JP version.

Could someone please help me with pxt and wap configeration? I have the settings that need to be put in the phone but i dont quite know where to go to put them in, if you know what i mean? These are the settings I need to use http://www.vodafone.co.nz/vlive/vlive_specifications.jsp
To fish. I would be waiting for your much awaited success. I already have loads(5 music videos, 2 Friends video clips, and Jackie Chan's Accidental Spy) of full screen music and high quality DVD videos on my 903 though I have to admit I use 3 programs and at least 2 runs before I can play on SD_Video. It's a long process but the result is far, far better than Nokia's MMC 3GP files and easy when you get familiar with it. I would appreciate if someone could find a shorter way of converting to ASF other than FlaskMPEG and Mediastage AV100. But right now nothing can match the clarity of my videos in full screen and in landscape. I am not boasting. Just want to encourage you to enjoy what I have.
i reccently got a 903. its the best phone i have ever seen.i have the uk vodafone version and have got mp3s to work as ringtones, the file size needs to be less than 3mb's i think. i am using nero soundwave to cut the part of a song or film speech, you can also change the volume to loud so you can hear it better. the files get saved as wav's, i then use dbpower amp to convert into mp3 again.i have loads of high quality ringtones that i have made this way. and put em on my 1gb card, then moved the files to phone memory. i am currently messing about putting full dvds onto my phone.i download avi files from torrent sites and convert them using nokia multimedia converter, the picture is watchable but not not using the phones full potential. i am in the process of tring to get high definition video at 320x240 resalution in mpeg4 format using total video converter, will let you know of my results.hope i not bored you too much i get carried away typing ha ha
Are your MP3s from iTunes or purchased? They might be copy protected. If you have dbPowerAMP music converter, try reconverting them to MP3. It happens to me many times that even the file extensions are .mp3 they don't play and when I convert them by dbPowerAMP they just play. I don't know the reason. Your phone should play both MP3s and AAC/AAC+(MP4). Try another ones from somewhere other than your old phone. Bluetooth transfer has got nothing to do with your problem. File extensions maybe.
Hi, can anyone tell me what the 'Barcode reading' does? How can it be used?
i know this sounds stupid but ive got the phone through vodafone in the uk so is it a uk version. its doin my head in now i ive bluetoothed afew files acros form old phone mp3 3gp mp4. the 3gp works as video and 1 mp4 works as sound file but the mp3s dont. any help plz before i return the handset :(

any reasons why this may be ps im in england
For those who are not sure of what they are talking about this phone, better not post it here as they may give a wrong thought to other prospective owners. Just give your honest review or experience to help others and not to mislead them. Thanks folks.
You are wrong. only Japan version can not set mp3 as ringtone and can not play unprotected mp3 file. Others work fine :)
There are 3 unlocked versions of Sharp 903 - Europe, Japan and Taiwan version. Only the Taiwan version can set mp3 for the ringtone. Others cannot. I just bought one Taiwan version as well. The only problem I find out for this unlocked firmware is the software come with the CD does not support for this phone. I cannot use the Handset manager program to enter my contacts etc.
I recieve the Japan 903SH a week ago and everything works perfect. Phone has been reflashed with Sx833 firmware which allows for no more test mode, mp3 playback, messeging works great! Call volume is very loud, headset volume not so loud. Regardless, truly amazing phone and has no hardware of software issues.
to lost in the moment: the Fully unlock service are now available everywhere, you can choose either Japan, taiwan, hongkong, Uk firmware then all the bugs will go away :) enjoy your fone dude.
I just got the 903sh..japanese version...but i guess it's not fully unlocked...using it in the US..able to make/receive calls but no luck with messaging...scanned through some of the posts...i guess there's issue with the phonebook arrangement and i haven't tested the mp3 player yet....i agree with most of you guys, the camera is great....hopefully someone can tell me how to fix/upgrade the phone to use all of it's features (sorry if this was already discussed, just redirect me) i bought the phone because of the good opinions from this forum. if anyone can help, i'd appreciate it alot. thanks!!!
