Sharp Android Softbank

After the new mid-range Crystal 2, Sharp unveiled the flagship version too – the Aquos Crystal Xx. Its screen is bigger too, grown to a massive 5.7", and the chipset has been upgraded to the latest Snapdragon 810. Despite the screen size, the Crystal Xx is more compact than the LG G4 thanks to the bezel-less design.

The screen is an S-PureLCD (Sharp-developed tech) with 1080p resolution making for a low-ish 386ppi. Still, it fits inside an aluminum frame measuring 146 x 76 x 8.7mm, the whole thing weighs 168g.

The Aquos Crystal Xx runs Android 5.0 Lollipop. Inside are four Cortex-A57 and four A53 cores, connected to 3GB of RAM and an Adreno 430 GPU. You get 32GB of internal storage to which you can add 128GB more with a microSD card.

The 13MP camera on the back of the phone has been certified by Ricoh. There's also a 2MP selfie camera. There's basic waterproofing, but you can't go shooting in the pool – the phone can survive rain and splashes, but no submersion.

Sharp Aquos Crystal Xx

The Sharp Aquos Crystal Xx supports Softbank-specific LTE with 187.5Mbps downlink and 50Mbps uplink. It launches in June for Softbank and should it ever leave its home country it should support LTE up to 300Mbps (the chipset can do it), global roaming is already supported.
