Az2, 07 Oct 2022I already tried using that VPN, the result is still the same. The phone still stuck at Android... moreAlso got an SH-Z20 here and no luck updating it with VPN. I cannot even find any stock rom image to manually flash it. The phone just stuck on Android 10 with various bugs that will never gets fixed. The NFC works but fails to recognize anything, there is no built-in file picker... etc. Buy a Japanese unlocked model, or avoid this phone at all.

Frame drop drastically...just start playing apex legend and only like 10 minutes...Frame drop.my phone not even hot....LoL I think I'm gonna sell this phone and buy others 2nd phone

There's definitely a problem with them locking features down this a problem with the game developers
Having ever smartphone need too be
whitelist for ever specific model of smartphone 🙄
Just too be able too unlock higher Hz settings or graphics settings 😞
Shame on game developers for this
Also yeah
lack potato graphics settings being added for budget or old smartphones
Is another example of game developers at fault
Game developers should let the gamers choose whatever settings they like in game

I think Sharp only focus to update their Japan Model (Ex. SHV47 and SH-M13) instead of the one I own right now (SH-Z20).

I do heard that the AU, Docomo and Softbank version already received update to Android 12. Really makes me wonder why mine still haven't received any update, not even an Android 11 update.

- Step 1: I tried removing the sim card from the phone and then resetting factory it.
- Step 2: I set up the phone as usual - during those steps, remember, you don't need to insert your sim.
- Step 3: After setting up all of the steps, I go to Play Store, search for the app named "Japan VPN - Plugin for OpenVPN" and install this app.
- Step 4: Open this app and click the install button to install "OpenVPN for Android".
- Step 5: Returning to Japan VPN and completing some config to run VPN.
- Step 6: Running VPN and go to the Setting app, scroll to Update software and check to update the phone.
You can try this method to update your phone which coming from Japan.

This is my fifth Sharp softbank issued phone.
Sharp undoubtedly has the best display in their phones. Software is very stable. The lightest Android phone!
The refresh rate of screen is amazing.

It's like technol... moreIt's almost as if *gasp* any phone's screen-on time will plummet with that refresh rate 😱 Also, never mind the additional heat that the screen and SoC will generate because of that additional effort to push for that frame rate...
But even if SOMEHOW both screen-on time and heating won't suddenly be a problem, 90+% of games and apps don't even support anything above 60fps until now. That's still true even though most of the newly released phones today have 90-120hz screens. Now for the games/apps that do support it, remember that it's still not automatically a blanket statement for all phones as many apps do have a whitelist of specific models.
So tell me why the hell would you even expect for the devs to make an effort just for probably the only 240hz phone model in the world that also has a microscopic global market share?
