This phone is very good, the camera gives competition to the Nokia 7610 which is 1 M.P!!
Could soemone explain to me how to transfer the files via IR?
and how to use the phone as a modem, please mail me @ Iceman_7b@Hotmail.com or answer here. thank you :)
i just got the gx20 used to have a 7650 much more better than nokias i agree with the guy above it s got a gr8 screen get it u won t regret he only bulshit is that u got to stick to vf and that ir only connect to the pc no bt u have to get the pic u wanna add to a contact saved in the phone so that it ll show when the contact s calling and only 2mb memory with no sticks... apart from these the phone basicaly rules gsms the best cam i ve seen btw
Sorry K@zu, i havent got that problem, but sometimes my gx20 switches off by itself. This happens like every 2 weeks. Its really annoying when i am txt messaging or taking a picture.
my GX20 is awesome phone.
and im sure users of it feel the same way. but ihave one problem it keeps on dropping out like a computer has crashed the screen goes blank white and times like 30secs to come back. i was wondering if anyine has had the sme problem and knows hoe to reslove it ??
What you said about the IR port being able to do file transfer from phone to PC is correct. And thank goodness for that too. What I meant, however, is the fact that, unlike most other phones with IrDA, the Infrared cannot be used to transfer media to other handsets. That is a big let down, as the other day a friend of mine had a picture from his holiday on his phone, but he couldn't send it to me because my IR port does not accept incoming connections from other phones!
Hey Naim, ive got one of these phones and you can use irda to transfer pics, tones, video from phones to pc, if you go into applications then down to PC LINK.
unbelievable phone truly the best phone i have use upto date, i want the gx30 now to see if it possible to get better.
and to I NOW ALL--- get a life, even the new nokias doent stand up the excellence of this phone, the only phone i have seent at has just as good a screen and pics is the p900 which is twice as expensive at leats and 50% heavier and chunky.
anything else is less than this.
i also work for VF and live kills other carriers take offs, but like EXPERT says find some alternative download sites.
dapo macaulay, i think that the gx22 has a better screen, apart from that theyre quite similar.
I wana get dis fone but i av 2 save up bare, y cant dey bring da price down. i tink its 1 of da best fones around at da moment? any1 agree
This phone has loads of great features like the camera. However, it is such a shame that Vodafone have spoilt it by applying their stupid red-and-white theme to it (I mean what's the point of having a 65k colour screen, if the menu system only uses three of them??), and disabled file transfer with the IR port so that we have to use MMS instead to increase their revenue.
If Sharp stopped selling their handsets to Vodafone, this phone would be the ultimate GSM phone. At least, that's what I think!
Peter, the GX20 does allow you to edit pictures with stamps and effects eg sepia, emboss. It is a good phone in general. I havent had any problems with it.
Is this phone any similar to the gx30 and tm100, with the feature of editing pictures by adding stamps and using effects like emboss or sparkle??? and is the gx20 a good phone in general?
I can accept comments made for and against this phone but to give a unbiased view. If you want a phone with a good camera as the absolute priority then get the gx20 or gx30(the latter is slightly more advanced but also slightly bulkier and heavier), as the camera is superb in the day and pretty good at night - a lot of slowdown on movement but brilliant flash which means you can take pictures even in a pitch black room(if for some reason you had to). It isn't the smallest flip phone around but it is light. No bluetooth is a big negative and the infrared is all but useless.
If your priority is for downloads such as applications, wavs, mp3s, truetones, games etc then I would get a nokia 3650 or 6600 everytime as they are by far the most compatable with most wap sites. The camera is also pretty good too. Both nokias are somewhat bulky phones though.
I own this phone and I use the camera a lot(especially in the bedroom if you know what I mean). I wish it had elements of the nokias as well but given the choice I pick the Sharp. Whatever float your boat really.
You get a little shitty game called bomblink which is absolutly crap, like the phone. The camera is terrible and the zoom is shocking. the disco light is just a cheapo gimmick. Sharp have let us down yet again and i think its time they quit the phone retailing and stuck to what there 'good' at. Vodafone live rips you off so i wouldn't use it. THIS PHONE IS A PILE OF SHIT
DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE, GET SOMETHING GOOD
