A wonderful technological development. I can now send e-mails form the quiet of my home or on the move.
However, I have been unable to utilise MMS, possibly due to our local incapabilities.
Otherwise, the phone is almost my everything: tasks, calendar, appointments, camera, etc... the list id almost endless!

The only bad point is the display BUT:.....do you think that nokia 7210 has better display??(4096col,128x128)just compare and will see that 7210's colors are very very weak!!!I think that s55 has the best STN display and if you try to edit the pictyres in the pc will see that are much better.remember that in other phones pictures 160x120 need a lot of memory space in order to store them in the mobile,but in s55 need only 5,5-6kb,so you must edit them(espesialy try sharpen from microsoft photo editor)I dont say that photos will appear in your mobile as like in panasonic gd87 but photos are better if you try to edit them.generally i think that the root of evil is not the 256 col.but the resolution which is 101x80(and the pictures has revolytion 160x120).BUT it is still a very very good mobile.

Has anyone used this phone with a car kit ? I have and just get strange nosies and I sound very echo-y. Be interested to hear if anyone else has same problems. I am changing mine to NK 7250, as can not use it as a business phone without car kit.

i am having this phone.. there r too many bugs but can be fixed by upgrading the software... but the 256 colours and low memory dosent make any sence..... also there is no standard ringtones..all music :(

Korx is probably talking about the pictures taken with the camera and show on computer screen. Yes the mobile has only 256 colours, but neverthless it's a fantastic phone!

Korx what the fuck r u talking bout???? i got S55 too.. color screen sux.256 colour for godd sakee.yes its a good fone but the color screen is really shit and its missing FM radio. i wish Siemens releases S55i or something with 4096 colours.

The S55 is the best, Top colour pictures, the ring tones you can download are the best i've ever heard, better than my P800.

good point swod. those 2 guys do not know how to utilize the full potential of the phone. they opted to go back to the jurassic features of their nokias. low tech like themselves.

What are you complaining about? There are lots of ringtones available on the net for free! Just pick one you like.
About the software: Siemens is the only manufacturer who provides their customers with free software updates! Check the siemens development site. Have you ever seen this on a Nokia ?? NO !

I agree with John, I bought mine for work and all I could hear is the buggle sound. Its very poor, I have gone back to my old mobile and left the S55 in my desk draw. I just want a ring tone that I can use at work without being looked at as an idiot. The display is also very poor unless at night.

I just boiught a S55 and I bought it for work. All i want is a standardring tone but all I getis pathetic sounds. The colour display is poor aswell in sunlight. I am so unimpressed I am going back to my old Nokia which has fancy music but basic sounds aswell when in a working enviromnet. Generally unimpressed, nice build shame about the software designers. It is advertised as a business tool but un-usable. I'm giving mine to the kid next door, very poor except for children

i got my siemens S55 for my birthday. the phone is good all except one thing!
i've tried to add my own .mid ringtones to the phone using the software that came with the phone and yet can not seem to do it

iam having now nokia 5100...but it is some how big and heavy....
i wanna buy the s55...
it is too light and small...
i think it is having good features...
i need no HSCSD or MP3 player...
i need only a small light mobile...

Great Phone! The display sucks though... and did someone say the battery is not Good? Well you got conned...co's mine works just fine and the last time i could use it into the 3rd day and i talk a lot on the phone...so correction...the battery is probably better than my earlier phones (Nokia 8210, SL 45i)
i say if you want a good phone and no bul#@#$#t just get this one..

Overall a great performer. Great Design etc.. and i agree crap as far as display goes. Why on earth did they not include a MMC slot - those MP3 songs on the SL 45 were a winner. Gosh! Siemens made a big mistake there.
Apart from that it knocks the comp out completely. I love the bluetooth and the kepad is a blessing once you know the trick..cheers.. i recommend it..
