Here's the deal: this is a pda first, and a phone second. It's large and heavier than any phone. It's got great audio, an excellent screen, and is rugged enough to survive an encounter with the ground. It's got CF and MMC, so you can plug memory, WLAN, cameras and so on into it. If you grab one, go to http://my-siemens.com/sx45 and grab the 2.2 update and all the other goodies, so that you get CF and MMC working together, you can access your SIM card memory, and so you get SMS messages with names. I bought it 'cause it was the only pda phone with CF, so I can access a wireless network across the sites I work at, without carrying a separate PDA - and it's fine at doing that. The Good: sounds great, has CF I/II and MMC, great screen. Bad: Big unit, you must use the handsfree headphones to operate the phone, older processor.
it's a very nice phone.i like it.but i want to know more phone that mp3.thank u.
it is a very nice phone but it has no camera and it is also old I wish I had another one and I am very mad at my father because he told me it is the latest phone in the world

Do you have something like the SX45 but that can be used in CDMA and Dual Band.

is it possible to use sx45 for a telephone without the handsfree unit ?? if possible how ??
does anyone know when the sl55 is going to be release and how much it will cost...i need to know asap ohterwise i will purchase this one or the pgd87
I've bought my sx45i about two months ago and it's even better than expected. The screen is large and very clear and the built in phone works great; even when on the move the sound stays crisp and there's no background noise. Because the sx45 has only 32 mb of internal memory the two expansion slots (sd/mmc and cf slot) are a perfect solution. The device has some drawbacks too of which some have been solved by Siemens with a free upgrade on the Siemens site. Unfortunately you can't solve the size, weight or battery life with an upgrade so that's something you'll have to learn to live with. Also it's a shame Siemens doesn't include a docking station with the sx45 like most manufacturers do. The dockingstation can be bought seperately for about 100 euro's which is a bit expensive. The phone can only be used with the headset that comes with the device which I think is a bit clumsy. You either have to walk around with the headset constantly attached to the sx45 or take the chance of being called but not being able to answer the phone. Batterylife is about two hours when using the phone or the pda and it's clear the screen consumes most power. I've downloaded a simple program that allows me to switch the screen of while listening to mp3's or when I'm using the phone and this really helps. Standby time is about 150 hours which I think is good.
In my opinion the sx45 is one of the best pocketpc's available at this moment though it's not perfect.
The SX45 access web builded as ASP, PHP or any dinamic page ?
