This is the best phone I have ever had and would like to use it again and forever after checking out from Palm, Windows Mobile, RIM, Iphone. I wonder if there's any brand new in the market (ignore the fake China made one).??????????????????

Truly the best phone I've ever had. Regret selling it. Wish Sony would make a similar model, same style and design. Keep the keypad, keep the antenna and jogwheel. Sharpen the screen, ignore the internet and if you fancy add colour, but keep the phone as it is. Big shame we are moving away from this style of phone. Maybe allow it to be a 3G hotspot for laptops and tablets, but keep the style.

Sony CMD Z5 is a amaizing mobile on that era... i was using the phone in 2001 to 2002 and i lost the phone... i'm still searching for the same phone in the market old phone or new phone i dont mind... its one stylish phone sony ever had... requesting to relaunched the phone... anybody wants to sell Sony CMD Z5 please contact me max.jeni@gmail.com.

Amazing phone. Replaced my Nokia with this one on 2001 and used it for a year before another Nokia replaced ths one.

I had bought a Z5 back in 2001 and used it till 2006. I can safely say that this is the best phone I have ever used. The design and quality is unsurpassed. I retired it because the keys became hard to press (because of use). I still have it. I have had many other phones after the Z5, but the Z5 is the only old one which is still with me.

I don't have a manual but did have one (worked on the browser/email client)

BTW
The 'WAP' browser can also browse html 3 over http - so the real internet on a tiny screen.
The email client is pop3 and smtp
Setting up browser and email is not the simplest but isn't impossible
Flip will answer/hang up calls (as you might expect)

One for me and one for my wife. The others are used as sparepart spenders. My problem is to find new batteries. I can find same shops wich offer batteries for the z5 with capacities varying from 600mAh to 2300mAh. But which ones are ok. Can anybody advise me? WilliWichtel(at)arcor.de

Anonymous, 25 Oct 2008if you type in fascila for sony z5 you will get a search engine come up look for the link to m... moreJust to let all sony z5 fans know i have had mine as from yesterday i baught it from ebay uk for less than 20.00 pounds and love it i was the one who sent the info for the flashing aeriels and the fascilal from the web site called m99 i wanted to buy back this phone for years and had it when it first came out back in 99 when the nokia 8210 came out but sold it to buy the nikia 8210 which i aslo still have and love both phones i baught this so i can use a flashing aerial and it still looks gorgeous and beautiful i was luck as it was sold as new
