Is it can be videocall camera when front phone is on? Sorry english bad lol
The Aino is coming out in the US for $600.
Sorry but $600 for this or any other smart phone is just too expensive. Sony couldn't even sell the PS3 at that cost. Netbook laptops cost less than that!!
What in the world could make these devices so expensive? It certainly is not the chips, materials and manufacturing cost. :(
thewizardmickey, 29 Oct 2009i'm so sorry i'm avery old fashioned dude but i dunno what a firmware is ???? i only got a we... moreBrother, there's nothing to be sorry about.. :)
just google the term..
here's a page from wiki..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firmware
In simple terms, it's a set of programs that controls and executes your mobile phone's operations.. A better firmware can result in better phone operations, like better video recording, better image capturing and processing, better battery life, smoother UI navigation etc....
As for your confusion, people will always find faults with each and every device they are presented with.. Nothing is perfect and that is the basis for new devices coming out.. What matters in the end is what you decide to get and whether you are satisfied with your choice.. I've heard both good and bad comments about Aino.. But when i put it all together, a heftier price tag with not so good battery performance, not so stable UI and video recording not upto the mark (a lot more was expected from Aino), W995 seems to be a better choice than Aino, atleast to me.. But as i have stated in my earlier posts, a major firmware update for Aino can fix the above mentioned issues.. It is expected around Jan.. You can buy the Aino now and can get yourself the firmware update in Jan, if you think you can do with the existing issues for 2 months or so.. If not, go for the W995.. That's what i suggest.. Rest is your choice brother.. :)

aino before, 29 Oct 2009Hello ritwik
it is good to hear from you again.
i hope that you are well now and out from yo... moreBrother, i didn't mean to be negative about SE, but i can hardly keep my hopes up after seeing their current strategies.. When i said that they didn't wanna spoil the party for W995, i meant that when people will be out on a shopping spree around Christmas, they would definitely buy a good enough phone( by good i mean stable) .. If they made Aino stable and so much user-friendly, the market for W995 will drop then, coz at Christmas time, people do not mind spending a little more to get a better product.. That's why the firmware update is expected somewhere in Jan 2010.. But then again, these are just my views based upon the things i heard from my friend and the local SE store that we have here..
If you read the Satio review, it just shows that just a little more effort by SE would have made it the top of the line product.. But for now, it's fighting among the contenders for the top slot.. So i don't have hopes high for Aino either.. A review by GSMArena can alter my views though.. But God knows when will they do that..
So if you are in a real hurry to buy a phone, i would suggest the W995.. Or else go for the Aino in Jan after the firmware update..
I can't really suggest another option coz i am not looking at other options, coz my friend (the same one who owns the shop) is giving me a huge discount on SE and Nokia phones.. I've had two Nokia phones in the past 5 years, and i think it's time i switched to SE.. :) I don't really want to go for Samsung..
And yes, i know.. The stories that my friend told are not good news.. What can i do bro.. I just told you what i heard.. And if i buy an Aino from him and complain about it in a month, he'll say just a little more than " I told you so..".. :P
I'll wait for Jan.. I would seriously suggest you to do the same.. Rest is upto you.. :)
And thanks a lot for inquiring about my health.. I've got rid of the flu but i've still got a sore throat.. Thanks again for asking.. :)

it is good to hear from you again.
i hope that you are well now and out from your illness.
me too i really want a new phone but i really can't decide i am not lover of big dimesions phones and as you said before i need a good battery phone that is very important for me and that is why i am thinking about SE phone.
w995 is a good one but it is of the same old OS that may be boring, that is why i think about Aino that have some refreshing points like Capacitive touch screen and also keybad and in my opinion it is very good idea to merge both (at least to me).
i hoped and still hope that it will be good phone.
as you mentioned before SE don't want to spoil the party for w 995 but will it spoil the part forever for Aino and hence the future for the company.
it isn't good news that you mentioned about the story from your friend.
i am wondering if there are other phones that one can look for besides Aino or W995
deepak , 29 Oct 2009dont buy from internet if u want to buy give me the reply i will tell u y deepak????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im all confused which one to buy... W995 or Aino... the good thing about Aino is... it has capacitive touchscreen which is far better than resistive touchscreen... But i think ill wait till Jan... prices will further drop and all the flaws of Aino will be removed...
aino before, 28 Oct 2009Hi ritwik
long time no post.!!
what are the last info that you got about this phone?
is it ... moreAnd the last info that i got about this phone (which was from a friend of mine who owns a mobile phone retail shop) is that he's sold around 8-9 units of Aino and out of that 5 users have come back and complained that the phone hangs sometimes, there have been a couple of cases of the phone rebooting, UI is slow in response etc.. So i guess that with the current price tag that the Aino has, i cannot take chances and regret later on..
Which makes me inclined towards the all-rounder W995..
So i guess that's pretty much it..:)
aino before, 28 Oct 2009Hi ritwik
long time no post.!!
what are the last info that you got about this phone?
is it ... moreHello there.. :) How have you been?
Well actually i was down with fever and hence couldn't post much.. The truth is, although i have been keeping track about the latest happenings for Aino, i am now more inclined towards W995. But that does not mean i am not interested in Aino.
The fact is (as we've discussed earlier..), the Aino will perform to its potential only after a major firmware update.. Which will happen after Christmas most probably (as SE people don't want to spoil the party for W995).. So i guess I'll just wait for Jan 2010 to buy a new phone.. Even the prices will be lower then..
I'm just tired of seeing good and bad comments about Aino everyday.. I want a final verdict ( which i think will be out once the people at GSMArena review this phone..). So i'm just waiting for that..
I may sound irritated, and maybe i am, and that's due to my prolonged illness, but seriously, no offence is meant.. :)
