There's very limited what you can do with touch. So, no, there's no onscreen QWERTY and you'll be using the keys for almost everything.
I would consider this device a non-touch device where Sony Ericsson are testing out the basics of how to implement touch.
can i use the bluetooth stereo when calling? i'm about to buy this phone next week. should i buy this?

A word on Skype/VOIP/SIP/Voice Chat:
As far as I can tell, no one anywhere has ever managed to get any kind of SIP/VOIP Wi-Fi voice chats on this thing working.
There are some java options like minifring, nimbuzz etc, but as far as I've found out, none of them seems to support voice chat over any protocol. There even is a SIP menu in the settings, but that truly just to confuse people to buy it - no functionality seems to be linked up to it.
Just thought I'd prevent others from spending days and weeks trying out every software solution and every protocol when it simply doesn't work.
NO VOIP, NO SIP.
Can someone help me, I cannot seem to download any videos off the net nor can do any video streaming of the web using my Aino. It just simply cancells the download without any info....
Got this phone but have a problem preventing an app from using 3G data.
The phone automatically did set up a 3G data connection, and it will be using that for browsing etc, when not at home. But I also installed an application that I only want to use at home - because it would generate high costs when used over 3G. And I found a description of how to do that on Sony Ericsson phones, and the Aino in particular: go into the programs menu, edit the options for the application, change the internet settings for it. Create a new dummy connection for it, and tell the application to use that non-working connection.
This however, doesn't work.
It should fail to connect because of the empty dummy connection, but it silently connects using the default 3G connection instead.
I can get the application to use Wi-Fi when available, but it'll jump to the default 3G connection when Wi-Fi isn't available. It doesn't seem like there's anything I can do to prevent it from using 3G data. Possibly it'll notice the connection failing and jump to the next, working connection instead.
This is pretty lousy, and I shouldn't have had to use a workaround dummy connection in the first place. I should be able to tell the application to "only connect using Wi-Fi". That's what I do on my Nokia phone.
lello, 10 Aug 2010where are located the speakers? plz smbody answerat the bottom!!
James Savage, 10 Aug 2010Perfect phone! No complaints at all!i have my aino.at first i was disappointed bec.it doesnt have secondary cam.but as i use and read comments here on aino,i learned so much with it.im enjoying now.i thought aino was left out from the latest fones today but there are no differences.aino is so unique from full touch fones where u can find nowadays wd china made full touch and cloned fones which looks original but fake.at least aino is unique and they cant make clones or fake.nokia and some fulltouch fones that r cloned are found everywhere.so i choose sony ericsson aino.so stylish, uniquehas fast wifi, quality pictures and video, average audio quality, nice solid body structure,ps3 remote, gpstracker, navigator, java software which makes user easy to use and can dowload lots of games unlike the full touch fones, and very simple to use.disadvantages are only no secondary cam but i slightly use,not ful touch but very unique touch mode for multimedia.overall, its perfect fon for me.
can anyone tell me if we can voice chat (call)using nimbuzz like nimbuzz to nimbuzz and also use SIP calls??

this is a small piece of advice for all who say that the Aino hangs & freezes which is totally untrue...i'm using it for 8 months & its perfect..maybe be it gets little bit slow so all wut u have 2 do is to delete all the log entry (missed, recieved & dialled calls).. & it will be perfect after that...other than this no any hangs or freezes...& no regret for buying this AMAZING phone
