Hanne, 19 Aug 2008I don't know. What is 'heap size'?It's how much RAM an application can make use of. For memory intensive operations like offline routing calculation it's important to have large heap size.

Why everybody talk about Nokia 6210 in this SE C702 forum ? ..... I think they mistaken .... but I just want to let you all know that new firmware for C702 just came out. So please go and update your phone thru SE website. I did that yesterday...better performance, improve battery life, improve GPS receiving, less hand etc....

Digital zoom is useful for example in video recording mode.

I don't know which navigation program for Symbian OS is completely free.
I guess GpsMid works on a Symbian OS phone too?
I still have to choose which phone I gonna buy: the SE C702, Nokia 6210 Navigator or Samsung i560. I think its gonna be the Nokia or the SE.
                    What do you think?

If you buy it there is Nokia Maps 2.0 on it.
The whole program is free for 6 months.
The program without spoken messages is free for ever.
At least, thats what i read about it.

Anonymous, 18 Aug 2008So once i have the maps its free to use? No need to connect to the internet?GpsMid is completely free to use and no internet connection from the phone is needed at all.

You download the map data once from the internet to your PC, then create the JAR containing the map and the application on the PC using osm2gpsmid. Then copy the JAR over to the phone to install it.

Use small map regions, i.e. 5x5km until familiar with this.

Just remember to put app=GpsMid-Generic-full into your .properties file for C702.

Searching for street names with GpsMid is faster than with any other program I know of because you enter the letters T9-like.
