I had this model for a while after my G900 return. I got the G900 because I was looking for a PDA-like phone. Unfortunately, the G900 was a total failure for me. I had tried more than one but the performance and the reliablily just so bad that I had to get something different.
I decided to get the C902. I like slim phones. From the begining, I missed the WLAN, although the screen is small and not good for NET surfing or checking email, sending, receiving SMS etc.
The other huge disappoinment was for me the camera. It is suppose to be a 5MP camera but the picture quality was worst than I ever seen even with a 3MP camera.
The look and style of the phone is nice. I think the functionality, features or performance is not good in my opinion.
The reception, the sounfd quality is average, not too good. The built quality is average, it looks good but very brakeable. You need to be very careful about handling it.
Luckily, I have a good relationship with dealers and I can return any phone within 30-days and exchange it for any model or brand.
I think if you looking for a basic phone without NET and very limited SMS usage, and the camera quality does not bother you then this phone may work for you. Otherwise, look for something else because there will be a big disappointment for you down the road.
I hope Sony Ericsson will release a thin, PDA-like smart phone soon.
Hi...
Nice Nice phone this phone. It has beautiful feathers and nice size for it.
This phone is rubbish infront of my Lg viewty.
What are you doing sony???
Make something hotter and better.
Maybe i'll have to wait for the c905 to release.
got this fone 2 days back.
Had shortlised n82 and k850i...n82 has great features but looks pretty ordinary and is bulky(not by weight but overall dimensions) and i was scared that it may slow down after few weeks/months(which is common with many nokia symbian phones)
k850i is awesome but i thought it was quite bulky(by dimensions). Also i didnt like the d-pad..i found it quite inconvenient considering i wont change cell till atleast 1 yr.
so finally i decided to go for c902 which was just launched in my country...its cool and quite slim n stylish with a unique camera cover...camera performs well for a mobile phone..touch sensitive keys are very responsive and fast..music quality is also good..keypad is also easy to use...i have experienced no software problems as of now and hope i dont get any in future..
overall a good phone.

I am sorry for your experience - I am sure there are some very satisfied customers (somewhere) but I think too many of you who had disappointed after purchase!
Hopefully, in the future you check out the unit more before buy- the SAME unit!
Have a nice day!
Is this phone having auto-rotate?
Got this phone last week, no problems at all, no faults Brilliant
just got this phone.
flash is rubbish, led givs very poor quality pictures.
when connecting USB cable the connector got stuck in the socket, had to pull really hard on it to release and one of the plastic pins is wedged deep inside.
going back after 5 mins and not even made a call yet. Wonder why i had not had a sony phone for 3 years.
would you recommend this phone or not? and is a headset/earphones included?

Anonymous, 26 Jun 2008lol king of camera phone? without xenon flash? do your research before you start writing away. like hello the c905 does have xenon flash as well as led. It can do both for camcordering and for pixs.
Anonymous, 24 Jun 2008It is relatively small phone notparticularly strong - I would suggest the X1 or the C905 they ... moreye the x1 looks like the daddy of all phones atm but its not out yet!! its sure to bring the customers flying back to SE not sayin they'l leave other brands but hey anythings possible lets just stop moaning over everything ye?
p.s my c902 arrived this morning :P o yeah!!
I got my c902 on 23 and was previously using a k800i and k810i.
The any key to answer setting for my phone only works with the handfree set, would like to know if other owners share the same problem.
Am reluctant to send it to the service centre coz the rest of the phone works sweetly. It has hung on me twice since, but it recovered after 2 mins or so without me resetting the phone by removing the battery.
It is very responsive, response time is noticeably shorter than my k800i/k810i. Pictures on the phone look rather dull, suspect due to the brightness of the screen.
The screen is small so is unable to fully display the pictures. I have also received comments that the sound quality on voice calls is noticeably better than my k800i.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the phone.

Anonymous, 24 Jun 2008does it support Flash? It is relatively small phone notparticularly strong - I would suggest the X1 or the C905 they can support a flash much more- they are much bulkier!

Leon, 24 Jun 2008bought this last weekend. feel & touch are oks. i had 2 problems though. 1stly, the pull-out c... morevery strange...mine hasn't got problems at all! It takes 2 seconds for the camera mode to activate but that is fine (that's how long it takes when you swtich the "on/off" button of any digital camera)
Don't listen to people asking you to wait for a better model. The C902 is just the best :) You can try to update it, that might resolve the problem, if not ask for a replacement since it is still under warranty.
