The "lens" looking thing near the speaker where SE usually put the video calling camera is just a light sensor to adjust the screens brightness depending on the ambient lighting.. Dunno why they took away the second camera tho - maybe its just being a slider there wasn't enough depth to fit it there :(

No EDGE, but we don't need it when there's 3G. What country are you from, that it's so much more advanced than the UK? You seem to forget that hydro-electricity, the lightbulb, the television and the telephone were all British discoveries/inventions (along with penicillin, the steam engine and many more). What has your country offered the world? Stop making outlandish comments that you can't possibly back up...

Chamon, 04 Nov 2008In some parts I agree with you. But the comercial intention of Sony Ericsson, is a truly real ... morethats a stupid comment, i mean obviously nokia's VGA is better than SE's QVGA. i mean the fact is there, the n95 for example takes in four times the detail when video recording.
1)dani, what do you expect? VGA will take up more memory, if that is an issue, turn the video down to QVGA?! having the VGA option is nice
2)yeah it sometimes stutters, but only on the nokia screen. on the computer it is fine. i think thats just the phone struggling to play it because its so massive!
i cant believe you are defending SE giving you an inferior spec sheet. they'll just keep doing it until you raise a voice

Anonymous, 04 Nov 2008I dun think SE had say in any of her marketing material or website about having a Front Camera... moreDo u really understand the situation?The main problem is that this phone comes with video call function n with the small circle on top of the screen which everyone assume a front cam but actually it's not,automatically people will think that's the front cam.And if u take your time n read few pages back,most of them who ask about this been told that there's a front cam.Maybe i'm wrong to say se is cheating but indirectly...yes.Marketing strategy?Give me a break man...se is fighting hard to stay in touch with leaders samsung n nokia.That's why i'm here to make it clear of all the confusion n till now i believe that many people still think that there's front cam.

I dun think SE had say in any of her marketing material or website about having a Front Camera for Video Call. I do not think SE will cheat anyone on their product specs, its probably they buyer own assumption.
It is the buyer own responsibility to check what they are getting before paying for it. No one force them to buy it.
If that's doesnt work, some shop have 3 to 7 days return. What are you waiting for ???
And if u really want a front end camera for video, then dont buy this phone, simple.
Dont accuse SE/Nokia/Samsung/Motorola/LG/Apple, etc of cheating.

no the 6233 doesnt produce pixelated videos with half the resolution when set to VGA mode

me, 04 Nov 2008If youre not happy because of the video call camera - Dont buy the phone - simple as that. ... moreThe point is not about unhappy with the video call.The main problem is majority of the people doesn't know that there's no front camera for video call but there's video call function so automatically people will assume there's a front camera n will be disappointed about it when they bought it just like my poor cousin.So i think its unethical of se not to point on this as this can be considered a high end phone n people will feel cheated.Even the so called se expert dani doesn't know about the absence of the front camera.I'm not starting an argument just to let people know before buying.Thanks.

Remember SE will not change it for you. So dont waste your time moaning about it.
