indra, 24 Jun 2008qvga resolution of video on qvga resolution screen is ideal and not make the phone to be more ... morewell i know the scren is only qvga but just like a digital camera, people want to remove the videos and cameras and put them on a PC.
if the screen is only qvga, why not only make the photos qvga!!

im pretty sure that sony would NOT ever try and make their fones look like a brand that they compete with.

QVGA is QUARTE VGA !! that is why there is a big differnce

VGA resolution video quality on qvga resolution screen the same as qvga video resolution quality because the screen can just showed qvga resolution and vga resolution video can make the phone will be more expensive and you can't enjoy the vga video at real quality

bob, 24 Jun 2008looks like the old nokia 6280, very original these designers at se.Bob, is it not inevitable that new mobile phones will begin to look like previous models? I mean, how many possible variations in design are there under the "mobile phone" umbrella? Maybe it does bear a passing resemblance to Nokia's 628x series. So what? It destroys it in every department feature-wise, so why the pointless comparison? Nokia fanboy by any chance?

Thinking that it wasn't capable of recording VGA quality video is fine by me. Lest you can't make calls or send text messages...then it's a major issue. I rather enjoy for what it can do rather than things tha it can't. That simple, we don't have to complicate things.

this is supposed to be a camera phone right?
well having a video camera is part of the overall experience. just because you dont need it, some people do and quite frankly putting in an 8.1mp camera and then chucking qvga recording makes this phone half complete.
not being biased or anything, but the n82 seems to be the better overal camera package

Anonymous, 24 Jun 2008video recording is the least application that any mobile user will going to use.Is that a fact? or you are just stating your opinion? Most all the people I know use the video record feature of there phones alot. Maybe you have been living in the 144x176 video record world of Sony which has just managed to upgrade to the all amazing and ground breaking QVGA at 30fps a second video recording that you dont care much. But for most all other users who have owned a N-series phone since two years ago, can tell you otherwise. When your phone can record VGA 30fps Who needs a mini camcorder.
