daniel, 17 May 2010htc diamond n c905 which 1 is better? the C905 is better
I've bought this only for 12 days, then I sold it back..
I'm a big fan of SE.. Been using 3 SE before this.. But C905 has been utterly, unbelievably dissapointing..
it has so much features but the Processor and Memory cannot catch up with it, hence, the phone always hang frequently.. Even if you open & close the slide for few times, it's gonna stuck.. I have to restart the phone many times.. not to mention restarting the phone was like forever..
I'm posting this so that you won't make the same mistake.. *sigh*
Most of the opinion I have read. I understood that all mobile has some problem. No mobile is perfect.
its okay for opening the battery cover.
not toomuch hard to remove....
its a better phone........
Using the C905 is quite a pleasant experience but I won't recommend it if you are looking for flexibility.
Firstly, It is not so customizable. For example, it is really hard to remove the outer body.
Secondly, there are not much 3rd party accessories for it.
Thirdly, the camera's autofocus is "locked" in the center: You can't move it around..
...And I've serviced my phone 2 times
Shakil, 15 May 2010Which one is better for camera: Sony ericsson C905 or W995???c905 is beter
[deleted post]if u want a better quality on camera, C905 . because C905's camera is 8.0 megapix , and E66 is only 3.2 megapix. and if u want it for business, choose E66... sonyericsson's phone is for entertainment and nokia's phone for business.
igot this phone in 2009, and it has been in repair 3 times, each time different faults, woul not recommend this phone.
I am a big fan of sony ericsson because of their camera phones.I bought c905 in January 2009 and since then it has been to service 3 times :(...really disappointed
My battery hold 24h, I talk 20min, i send 20sms, i stay 20 min on internet. Screen sever is disabled, led light is at minimum, i have the phone for 1 week! Do you know if i must send to service? Tks a lot!
Summary: Awesome phone but needs work. Would recommend buying. 8.0 out of 10.
I have the c905a version from Rogers. Ran update and it said I have the latest firmware.
The pamphlet user guide is a joke (the online PDF is also unhelpful).
Camera is awesome, very high quality for a cell phone. However, there are limited options for controlling the camera. It would be nice to be able to set the aperture, shutter speed and white balance settings directly.
It would be nice to have more aspect ratio options when taking the photo. The 3MB pixel is on the large side and the next one down, 640x480, is too small. There is no "always flash option", only "auto flash". The auto flash goes off when it doesn't need to.
Video recording should provide options for frame rate and resolution.
When trying to access Google maps, pressing the decline button the phone crashes and reboots. It would be nice to be able to access google maps using a wifi connection, but that isn't an option (you must use an internet connection from your GSM provider). If you have GPS log data, being able to use wifi would mean being able to use google maps after the fact.
Another bug: The phone auto locks the buttons when the slider is closed (even though the Settings->Security->Automatic keylock is set to Off).
Wifi is good when signal strength is strong, but can be finicky when Wifi signal is medium or low. When using the built in browser, if the wifi disconnects and then reconnects then the browser won't be able to reconnect. Similarly, when browsing \\c905 from a computer, if the phone disconnects the connection or the connection is broken, then the computer cannot reconnect. The work-around for both these problems is to turn off then wifi and then turn on the wifi. It would be nice if they worked out these bugs.
"Search for update" and TrackID do not work with WIFI connection, they require GSM Internet plan. Any application that requires the Internet should provide using Wifi for the connection.
Radio quality was impressive. Displays the song currently played and the name of the radio station.
Cannot change the default homepage using the built in browser.
It took me awhile to find out how to access the applications. The fact they are under "Organiser" is very unintuitive. Overall, they could've done a better job organizing the applications/entertainment and location services screens.
On the Wall Paper screen, it should show icons for each short cut key. E.g. the down key pad accesses Contacts, but there's no way to tell this.
It would be nice to be able to customize the Menu screen, and be able to have a scrolling grid (or fit more options by reducing the size of the icons).
So far the GPS seems terrible. It took 20 minutes to acquire a signal. Then I turned off the phone and went to bed. The next day I walked to work (15 minutes) and the phone couldn't acquire the GPS signal. I had both trekbuddy and the "Status info" applications running. My friend has a blackberry and he says it acquires a signal within 30 seconds.
I don't like the way the SIM card fits into the phone. It's too hard to take out the SIM card once it's in there.
The phone has to copy all the contacts from the SIM card to the phone memory. If I ever switch to a new phone, I'm uncertain how much of a pain it will be to get all the contact information from the C905.
It doesn't seem possible to disable the screen from turning off. It would be nice to have the screen dim to low brightness setting, but not turn off.
Any c905A users who got their phone on contract through AT&T have problems with their phone? Cuz it seems that a lot of the problems that people have with the c905 are from Europe or Asia. Can c905a users in America report their experience?
