Overall the phone is great - awesome camera and quality of pictures. However, there are a few boo-boos - no video call camera for the 3G and I've recently had problems with the earphones and sound and the slide cable under the screen has now broken. Not impressed for what I paid for the phone.

I bought the c905(unlocked) for my wife.
                  Scores 1-5, 1=bad, 3=average 5=excelent
The c905 is awesome for pictures(5)
The phone is loud and clear great reception(5)
                  videos are good(4)
The turn by turn navigator works ok for free(3)
                  Google maps with street view(5)
                  Battery life great(5)
                  Is not bulky(4)
                  Messaging-some nice features(3.5)
                  Music id great(5)
                  Music player good-not very loud-earbuds will help(3.5)
Media sharing is great especially if you have ps3-your media can be viewed/played so easy on your hdtv(5)
Screen is excellent for its size-the phone is small(5)
Wifi works great, 3g works great(5)
Bluetooth works great-good range, good clarity(5)
Voice dial-uses voice tags but works very good(4)
                  Internet-better than average(3.5)
                  Storage-came with 2gb, can install 8gb card(4)
                  Overall score 4.5
If you want it for pictures(5)
Calling is as good as it gets(5)
If you listen to a lot of loud music on your phone this is not the phone for you. Unless you invest in some expensive earbuds. The quality is good but not loud enough(3)
If you want to navigate a lot the built in wayfinder is pretty basic so you could upgrade to att navigator(4).
The phone has been excellent but we wanted a good camera and good call quality. The free nav application is a plus because it searches the internet so you can find almost aanything. We love being able to access the pictures/music on our hdtv.

Anonymous, 24 Jul 2009Also, this phone is pretty cheap in the US, $180 with contract and rebates.Cheaper yet on Amazon: $49 with a new contract, $124 for upgrade.

You can also "debrand" the firmware in the phone to re-enable WiFi and WayFinder, plus accept standard (signed/unsigned) J2ME apps.

The network limitations put on handsets as powerful as these is just disappointing. I ordered the international unlocked version (I'm on T-Mobile so I can't use the 3G) of the handset from an ebay seller who ships them directly from the factory in China with full warranty. Good price, $360 with shipping. Just search the handset on ebay and you should find it.

I'll be able to tell you guys if the unlocked handset fares better than the reports I've been getting from this board about carrier specific versions of the C905.

I went by the AT&T store and took a look at the phone. It has a nice solid feel to it, the slide is smooth and made one little creaking noise as I twisted it. The plastic is good quality, and the overall size of the phone was actually smaller than I thought it would be. Here's the problems though, the keypad felt like it was made out of a thin, hard plastic. It felt like it would crack if I pressed it too hard or used it too much. The screen had an orange color to it, so I asked a sales rep. if it was supposed to be that way, it turns out the phone had locked up. Too bad, I really like this phone, I was hoping the bugs would have been worked out already, since I was looking at the new US model, the C905a.
