slightly better than elm's and hazel's unit
almost in par with nokia c5's speaker.that's it.
playing through handsfree is awesome.superb clarity with very loud playback, easily wipes out x2.
once mega bass is switched on its stunningly awesome.
i'm using an external speaker also, with cedar,its better than screwing the phone trying to take out the speaker wire mesh for improving sound vol.

Anonymous, 07 Mar 2011Can anyone can confirm does this phone can run 720p video.... I just got this mobile yesterday... moremy cedar played 720p videos even before update.
those videos when put into my x2 ,it plays as an audio file, the same put into my friend's corby, it showed unsupported resolution.
cedar didn't played that HD mp4 avalable from youtube, i don't think any phone under 10000 inr will do that.
i converted the 1080p mp4 of 110 mb 'eminem not-afraid' song using total video convertor 3.14's sony mp4 format into 720p mp4 of 28 mb and it played smoothly.
don't know whether there is any other way.

my cedar can not play 720p video
just play 640×480 mp4
you can download update service program from Sony Ericsson website then follow instructions to update

Can anyone can confirm does this phone can run 720p video.... I just got this mobile yesterday but i tried out 720 p video record from in my galaxy s i9000 but it say unknown format in cedar shuddering i have to update the phone.... If so how was That i don't have data cable for this phone i tried out from gprs but it says ur phone uses latest version.... Can someone can say latest firmware details pls am from India....

Duke, 06 Mar 2011Hi Abhi, How is the battery life,when you use it for internet browsing or while playing games ... morewell if you are using the stock netfront browser, you can jump into mobile games via activity menu key,But netfront shuts itself down. If you are using Opera mini or other java browsers, hell yes. i've tried it along with 3 other games (fifa 2011,snow board skating and nfs undercover) and phone performs fast as always.

Duke, 06 Mar 2011Hi Abhi, How is the battery life,when you use it for internet browsing or while playing games ... morelast night i charged the battery upto 95% and accessed net [2G] for more than three hours continously along with background music playback at high volume.
when i stopped there was around 81% battery left, which i think is a great deal.
battery back is stunning according to me.defenitely over x2,i own both and have tested both of them.
Atlast x2 was completely drained out while cedar stood for more than 3 hours after that.

Many people from INDIA having network carrier named BSNL have same initial four digits of IP address. That's why this guy apprantly had same IP address as mine.
But don't worry... no other guy with same IP address will be able to use "abhi" nickname bcoz I have got mind registered via facebook.
My posts will always be the ones with "abhi" written in darker letters.

Download the application named "FileLock" from getjar or u can also google it. With this application u can lock any file which will make the photos/videos/songs disappear from media menu & u can unlock the file whenever u want. This app is really great.
Download it & ur problem will be solved.

AnonD-2228, 04 Mar 2011Bt cedar doesn't lack music keys.. U can play next or prev song by holding the volume keys...sorry... i missed that.
cedar can play HD videos also while in x2 it plays as sound clip and not video.
i mean super clarity 720p videos just a 3.00 min weighs around 19-23mb, x is good only for its speaker whose clarity is verygood among nokia phones but just average among sony phones
