abhi, 21 Oct 2010Look bharat I don't have any grudge against u but I don't believe its 8fps. A guy named vijay... moreHai Abhi, Sorry 4 being absent for so long, I was very busy with my work... I see that there has being a lot of debaite on the topic of video frame resolution & frame rates going on about CEDAR here. I would like to point out something here.... Someone commented here that the FPS or framerate was 8fps. well, he may be true....partially! The i found out is that if u record video outdoors(in Good Sunlight)the FPS is 15(14.97) to be exact BUT if it is indoor or worse at low light(Night especially)it drops down to 12, 10 or 8FPS. So, I think the person was right when in a way when he said it was 8FPS BUT wrong in way When he said it was only 8fps. I would also like to Quote one of Follow posters here(Mr.marujii) 'i bought zylo 4 weeks ago, video is vga 30frame,BUT sometimes it falls to only 5frame...then i move all the video clips(mtv) not taken with the phone to a sub folder i created and then it's back to normal'. I think there is a Limitation with the Hardware in CEDAR.. May be that reason behind the Difference in FPS rate...

Abhi, if you remember the SAMSUNG i8910 Omnia HD had the same problem... Quote form the GSMARENA Review....
'In almost all the cases the framerate was variable and went below the promised 24fps giving the videos somewhat choppy looks. We aren't talking disastrously many dropped frames but there are about one every second in some videos. You might not even notice that if shooting slower moving objects but more rapid movements looks bad. The Samsung Omnia HD is not really the soccer mom's dream.'

The Sony Ericsson Cedar is a fantastic phone for those who value functionality.

My first 2 phones were Nokias. I changed to Sony Ericsson because even the very basic of Nokia phones - the 2100 and the 2600 gave me software problems! I then bought a Sony Ericsson K510i in the grey market. It's screen had a defect and since I bought it grey, I could not get it repaired. I gave it back to the guy because of a certain goodwill we shared. I then bought the same model with bill. I used it for nearly 3 years and never found it lacking in any way.

Due to rough handling, it finally started falling apart but was still working well. I decided to buy another phone. I even contemplated buying the same model(K510i) second hand if someone was selling. Unforunately, it was not so popular. Even panels were unavailable.

I thought a touchscreen phone would be easier to use and I wanted one which could open MS Office documents and PDF. Sony Ericsson with such features was expensive. So I reluctantly settled for a Nokia 5233. I realised that I had made a mistake. After being used to the K510i's friendly and easy user interface, the 5233 was a nightmare. There were menus and submenus for the simplest of applications and it behaved like an old PC.

I then discovered that the SE Cedar was within my budget. It was announced but was not released even in October 2010. I looked everywhere in Bangalore but could not find a store which had it. I finally got it couriered from Trivandrum.

I must say, it's a beautiful phone. Tastefully designed and has everything I need at my fingertips without going into complex submenus. I don't need to press half as many buttons as the Nokia 5233 to dial, message, go to the calendar ir set the alarm.

The Cedar even has something called 'conversations' - You can scroll down a string of messages you've sent and received from your contacts. No going to inbox and sent items.

The user interface is a joy. Other interesting feature for me are Google maps, interface with the PC to backup contacts and messages, 3.5mm audio jack socket, nice keypad, customisable shortcuts and it even feels nice in my hand.

            bharath47, 21 Oct 2010camera 2.0 megapixel 1600x1200 no autofocus video qvga 320x240 pixels@8fps 50hz fliker rate ... moreLook bharat I don't have any grudge against u but I don't believe its 8fps.
A guy named vijay was the first one to reveal the truth on this site that cedar's video rec. is qvga@15fps not vga@30fps.
Morover this guy worked as leading video editor for a firm and he also have exact frame rate i.e. qvga@14.97 fps and he also said that in every video the frame rate hovers around 14.97 fps.
So I do have a strong reason to believe that its 15fps.

R Al; Vaniez, 21 Oct 2010Question from Indonesia. What about the batery can hold about 3 days?? my W350 only 2,5 days.It depends on how use it
if u turn on 3,5G maybe just around 20hrs.
                                Properly 1,5-3days normal gsm netw.

Normally if u listen through the headphone/hpm always louds.
But I think yes the speaker of cedar its slow.
I have naite more clear n loud than my old w902.
                                  But via hpm77,almost the same.
                                  suggest,Go for naite
Cheap, light, sharp display, fast internet overall very good set

praveen, 21 Oct 2010what about sms storage its good or poorIt's basically unlimited.
It can store msgs either in phone memory which is 280mb (260 mb after pre configuration) or memory card.
So as long as memory is left in ur phone or memory card it will continue to save msgs.
