TRUTH, 18 Jun 2010whether this model can be used as a data modem to connect internet through pcthis can be used as data modem even without pc suite (tried on linux and windows 7 successfully).

at the first,i hate my G502.BUT..after :
1.upgrade the firmware to R1FA037
2.upgrade the accoustic & camera software
now i love my G502!this the best one.u can do video call,never hang,flash menu,sound is much much better then SE W series,and better camera.trust me..i won't sell my phone!

Well, I've just had this phone recently. I bought it 2nd hand, so the appearance is not good anymore, but it doesn't matter. What I really disappointed is that this phone sometimes get hang by itself and the respond sometimes slow. I don't know, maybe there is / are bug(s) in the system or the system itself doesn't good enough. Well, about the sound, in my opinion is not too disappointed. Well, it is not walkman series, so it can be understood. Beside that, the photos taken by it are quite good. I enjoyed take photos with it.
Overall, this handset is quite useful only for communication and sometimes for browsing the net, but more than that, please don't hope that much.

i haven't used this phone for 2 years, i stated 'about 2 years' or maybe 1 and a half years. But the issues with this phone is ridiculous. The time changes whenever it feels like, the battery power is decent, the design is pathetic, it wears off, the sound quality is awful. But maybe worth its money for some of its features.

I've been trying this for the past 1year, one solution is to save every number before dialing. But it spoils the only thing that a phone is meant to be used for.

A guy has commented that he has been using this phone for the part two years and that it consistently hangs.i am sure the sguy has not been using the phone for two years.check g502's release date and subtract two years from present(13-06-2010)day.why do people lie like this?of course the phone hangs.i have been using this phone from 11-jan-2009.it freezes a lot BUT it can be fixed by upgrading the firmware.the phone for its price range is really an awsome phone.it has a good wap browser,java support and most importantly it has a good picture zooming ability.it can zoom into pics caught by a 12MP digi cam.users please drill more holes on the pannel above the speaker as there isin't adiquate openings for the sound to come out.the paint fades off quickly nothing can be done about that.the phone supports 4MB java games.if u need a good audio quality jurt switch over to a costlier headset.try an in ear headphone.

This phone sucks!
This phone has been with me for about 2 years now.
It consistently restarts when it's starting up.
The simple designs easily wear off, so i wouldn't recommend you stuffing this in your purse or pocket.
The pricing for the phone along with its rational features are satisfying but i seriously woudln't recommend it.

This is some tips 4 g502 users:
1. Upgrade ur fw to r1fa037 (more stable) using a2 uploder.
2. Set phone to save 'all' to memory card (cam. pic, message, e-mail, etc). U can back up ur data using pc suite or my phone explorer periodicly to prevent data loss!
3. Install opera mini 4 everyday browsing. Use internal browser only if u need n' opmin can't handle it (4 rapidshare :-))
5. Always clean ur cookies n history both on opmin n internal browser.
'the point is to keep the phone memory at least 30 mb' :-)
