I know this phone very good. Everything for its price is okay in case you update firmware to R1F..35 OR R1F...37 and you accept a small but excellent display and a hard and uncomfortable keypad / buttons (which means you can not play games longer than 15 minutes). This is the truth.

i think this g502 is one of great phone ever (4 it's price range). all u need to do is search se forum (u can googling it) to find out how to customize n' maximize this phone. for the restart problem, just update ur phone fw to r1fa037 n save all to mem. card so the phone memory can stay at 32 mb or more. now i have 35 mb of phone mem. free n' everything work fine on my g502.

Friends,
Before buying this phone, pls pls check with guys who have used it. 8 out of 10 users will never suggest this phone. this will restart automatically even while you are talking over the phone.
Just imagine, you are talking with your boss / girlfriend and phone got turned off.

Evenafter updating the software, it will piss you like anything

Anonymous, 23 Dec 2009i believe ur problem of lost connection is a network (service provider) problem and not the phone...very recommended phone!!!!!
u can email, use it as a modem, streaming on youtube, download at high speed
great sound, from speaker or earphone

i was using sony ericsson w302n (SAGEM) before.. and yes, it sucks!!!!

I did one of the biggest mistake by buying this phone. Some of the great features
1) I have around 200-250 contacts, now if i receive/make/missed any call, it doesn't show-up i.e, it shows only those contacts which are already available in contact list ( it shows dialled/missed/received ), but any new number..... no way.

2) From last one-and-half month, i am facing one more excellent feature.... once you are in call, suddenly the call drops, after around 8-10 swconds, the great G502, vibrates, and then it shows "Searching".... ( network is lost ), in the same place where i was using this phone, when it comes back... it works fine. Now imagine, you are attainding important call, may be an "interview", imagine the pain.....

Hope you understand my pain, and never-ever buy this phone. rather buy nokia's 1200 rs phone, or any phone other than sony ericsson may be chinese made also should be better than this junk phone.

i've been using this phone for a year....
during that time, i often plan to change my phone..
but now i realize that this phone is excellent..
when u buy a phone, u must know what do u need.. so, u won't regret with the phone... this phone is best for those who need a high speed internet connection..n the material of the casing itself is rigid indeed, because i change my SIM card a lot, n there is not problem with the battery cover n phone stability...

now when ur phone often getting restart it probably because firmware..u should update it to R1FA037..it might help ur problem..

Sony Ericsson G502 would be a very good phone, but I am very disappointed about the whole company. I bought my phone in January, and had to take it to be repaired 3 times. Now it is in service fourth time and this point they should give me an another new phone, but instead they stated that I hijacked my phone so the warranty went away at this time. They think it but I don't think so.

If you want to buy from an incorrect company then buy a Sony Ericsson mobile phone. That's it.
