The phone looks good, has nice features, nice camera, good mp3 player and radio with RDS. BUT there is one HUGE problem: the battery is very very SUX. It'lasts only one day max (10min talks, 10pictures, no radio, no mp3 used)!!! I am feeling f**ked up :(

Hi Everyone,

I am a Sony Ericsson Fan. I bought G502 as a temporory replacement for my P1i which was in the service center for some time. Overall the phone is good except for some problems.

Pros:
1. Good looks
2. Light (atleast as compared to P1i)
3. Decent functions, good media player and fast
4. Value for money

Cons:
1. Colour of the keypad (chrome colour) goes off in a week or so
2. Off late the phone switches off on its own
3. When I get a call i click the Receive button, the call is disconnected and the caller receives a busy tone.

I think i will have to visit the service center again.

My previous experience with Sony Ericsson phones has been really good. P1i and G502 has given me lot of problems. I wish these dont continue in future.

I think video clarity is the highlight. Using xillisoft video converter with ipod normal settings (320*240) its awesome. Supports 25 fps playback.

Camera has the Photofix function too. its an added advantage.

Walman has the album art, landscape mode, sterio widening, megabass and video resume too.

The only disadvantage I found is the camera doesn't have autofocus.

Battery backup is OK.

Its a Multi tasking phone. you can run multiple games at a time and you can minimize them and start mediaplayer.

I suppose weight of G502 (including battery and SIM!) is much more than 84g as released. Has someone an accurate scales at home and could really check it?
I would assume much more than 100g.
Thanks in advance.

Had it for 2 weeks, thought it's some kind of defect, so used the warranty. They repaired my G502 for a month and nothing better. I feel unlucky if I'm the only one having this problem.

I've started using Ericssons when the first models were released. Those were almost like bricks you could talk to people with. The brand has more or less stuck with me and i've been very happy with the phones of this brand. This phone is thusfarr the best one i've ever had.

Good Design, Beautiful graphics, fast internet access...

Poor Battary (hardly lasts for a day without any usage), bad keypad, no options to take backup on memory card, Time and date has to be set every time it get hung or restarts on it own and also when the battery is removed and put back.

Perhaps if listening music etc. battery will long only for one day. I was expecting for much better.

Hi, to all G502 users. I am considering this phone as a replacement for my K610 because of its high-speed internet. What do you say? Do you think it's worth it to change my phone for this one because right now, my k610 is still a nice phone for me and in fact this comment was made using my phone's browser

Personally I liked the thing.
-320x240 2" TFT LCD screen.
-Nicely visible even in bright sunlight from any possible angle.
-Camera is not attraction.
-Very glossy, (I spend hours to clean finger prints on it) but appears very rich.
-Keys are good, though too small but they are distinct since little hard press required.
-Video recording is good (320x240 res).
-EDGE/3G/HSDPA enabled for web connectivity.
-Expandable upto 4GB with M2.
-Not smart phone but smart enough to use as communication device.
-Good battery life
-Headphones need big ear holes to fit correctly. still they are good at quality.
-bit jerky in animation.
-Available for Rs. 7060/- in "THE MOBILE STORE" with 512MB Sony M2.
