Dmitry, 21 Oct 2008What's with people complaining about the lack of a document viewer/editor on this phone. Hones... moreI agree with you.
And nonesense to those guys who criticize this phone for having no document viewer because you can download the application yourself; either document viewer or editor but trust me, editing your documents in your phone is not that easy unlike in your pc(maybe in touchscreen phones e.g. G900)
if you want, I can send the link to you guys but first buy this phone.. Hehehe... joke XD
Anonymous, 22 Oct 2008you must pay for the GPS, you cannot use cracked onesgps is a free service
When you build a symbian smrat phone with full multi media and sliding, over 2 mp camera etc, you're just inviting comparison with the nokia N series. Which means you have to load it with the harware to match Nokia - so the lack of auto focus in the camera is baffling - thats what buyers will look at first - hardware - what do you get for your money? And while i'm a huge SE fan - i have to say - Nokia N Series sliders pack more!
I've got this phone, and honestly, I think it is the best phone SEMC has made - not counting of course the smart phone lines like Xperia.
It's got everything I want, the GPS is very good, WiFi is so simple to use, voice quality superb, small and sexy too. I have other prototypes I need to use at work, but I always come back to using this one. The screen is very good and I downloaded Opera Mobile and it rocks, especially over WiFi.
What's with people complaining about the lack of a document viewer/editor on this phone. Honestly, who view and edit documents on a PHONE? That's what you have a COMPUTER for. Otherwise, just buy a SMARTPHONE. This phone was never meant to be high-end. Its a mid-range phone and people should be glad that SE decided to included Wi-fi at the very least. Regardless, no one is forcing you to purchase this phone. This is why we have choices.

OMG... i luv this phone! Gottah have this phone... so sexy...and it slides... and it's got WiFi... holy moly!
Why no document viewer? Other java based handsets such as Samsung and LG offerings provide this. For all fellow SE owners the way around this while using a SE device is to set up a gmail account unless you've got one already. Install the java gmail app onto your device. Then any attachments emails to your device can be viewed on it. The same applies if you install Yahoo 3.0
Just to clarify, this phone has Wifi-in other words, it can pick up a free internet connection?
Because I find 3G HSPDA useless compared to Wi-fi. 3G HSPDA is way too expensive...
I think SE makes the most beautiful phones out there, but... camera and videoquality is not on par with the best.
Why oh why only QVGA instead of be the first with HD?
It's a great phone&iam gonna buy it.with de turbo 3G iam gonna rock.music will be perfect in SE Phones.and camera 3.2mp will be perfect even without autofocus because of de sony camera module.anyway its better than any nokia phones.Even better than the N96 with poor RAM performance which iam currently using its a waste even with 5mp cam with a really bad photo flash.i vote G705 on the top
Anonymous, 17 Oct 2008What video quality does this phone record at? QVGA@15fps? Or is it better? Need at least VGA@30fps.All recent G phones (700/900/705) record at 15 fps initially. With a camera mod however you can crank that up to 30 fps
Touchscreen and multemedia smartphones are going very good... but they are still expenssive and short on battery, size, and solidity.
I was looking for a phone like this G705... but why not some touchscreen actions like on g900/700... (agenda and notes seemed more cool than on usual features phone from SE)
but the worst... why no AF? I own a k750, which still works not that bad expect it doesn't have 3g, good web browser and gps... ahem... but i guess the cam quality will be wrong on G705...
