Anonymous, 09 Jul 2008RAM is not an issue??? ^_^ are you familiar what ram is for in a mobile phones or even compute... moreExcuse me but even for a heavy user 35mb RAM is enough, most smartphones like the P990, N80, N73, W950 etc. . .had 20mb on boot up and after opening the "basics" would still have around 17.5mb available for around 2-3 apps to run at once, 35mb would be enough for even more, what type of apps do you run that would need ALL 90MB on boot of your N82? Or all 70-80mb of your G900?
Im a heavy user, i use the Web browser (full webpage), Music Player, MXIT IM, MSN, Symella to download music, PhoNetInfo and OperaMini all at once on my N81 and still have around 24mb to keep them running, N81 has between 43-50mb of RAM on boot depending on whether the menu effects are on or off. I already said EXCEPT for the camera part the N81 is better than G900, and theres is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING you can say against that because its true. The G900 is meant to be a multimedia device yet it has a slow UI, limited amount of apps, NO EDGE,slow CPU and it doesn't even come with a MMC in the package LOL!
I agree take the N82 over N81 but the arguement was whether to take N81 or G900 in the 1st place, and if the camera is not a dealbreaker rather take N81 but if you can MUCH rather take the N82.
got this phone two days back and its awesome...but anyone knows how to install themes into it?

Anonymous, 10 Jul 2008is that possible to install the GPS for G900?yes it is possible because g900 have simbyan but you must buy autside gps sistem like sony ericsson p1
i have sony ericsson g900, but i am from slowenia and when i was insatll aur language on phone, phone startet to brake and you cannot copy phone number,s from sim card, but features are ok and the new menu is superb, and camera is very good but at the evenings you cannot take pictures!

N78?? :) Lol that's no better than N81!
its actually just an N81 in fp2(one of the first few nokia phones to have feature pack 2, so it still has a lot of bugs) plus a 3.2mp camera.

Cause the touch sensitive keys on the edges is a big let down on n78. Not to mention the keypad itself. And i wouldn't brag about the design itself. Whew!

no one should carry a break like that! that's a messed up phone - and i'm a NOKIA FAN!
The N78 is de best, even better then the great G900, which is one of SE's best.
i dont like touchscreens, it violates universal law of making things simple, easy and sturdy. screen is very vurnerable to breakage and scratch, use of both hands feels very uncomfortable when your in real world, when your on the street walking, when your on your car driving..
if they'll make a non touchscreen edition of this as well as a good camera, dual flash, dual processor, HSPDA, HSCSD, EDGE, DVB-H TV receiver, GPS, put a specialize music button, put an FM antenna, 3.5mm jack, great games (N-Gage level), tons of 3rd party software.. i will choose this phone over N96c",
hi. i bought my G900 2 days ago
at first when i received text messages it still has a message alert
but yesterday i noticed that it does not anymore, no more message alert tone nor vibrate
i tried to change the message alert tone a couple of times but no success in making it work, any of you guys experienced this kind of problem?
stylish and cheap but the features are quite so so... good if you consider a slim touchscreen...

Besides the camera the N81 is FAR FAR better th... moreRAM is not an issue??? ^_^ are you familiar what ram is for in a mobile phones or even computers?
maybe you are not a heavy user, but 35MB of ram on boot up is sadly not enough. For those of you who are not familiar, the available ram on boot up are the remaining free ram not used by the OS alone. Even opening the Menu, Messages, contacts, time, date or Call (which are pretty basic for a phone) takes additional Ram! not to mention the camera, video and mp3 players which eats up much bigger ram.
These phones are supposed to handle MULTI-TASKING! such as opening Microsoft Documents, PDF, Dictionaries, websites and other office applications. These are ram hungry applications. Even my N82 slows down if I forget to close all of these.
Maybe your happy with your N81, good for you! ^_^ unlike others that i know that complains about their unit.
oh yah, regarding the camera quality of G900, look here for samples:
maybe you meant N81 is far far behind? N81 and G900 is a wrong comparison, N81 is a level way below G900. N81 is a "half-baked" model intended to fill up the gap in the portfolio, consider N82 instead as one of your choice.
there is one more problem with slide up phone I have to mention, (because all of my friends have this problem) all of slide up phones would eventually break down in just a year or two! they call it flex(?) its the thing that connects the lower end of the phone to the sliding part of the phone.
