ok guys. to all people hating on this phone, sayin how bad the camera is go check out a comparison review of this phone against nokia's flagship camera phone(smape.com)..you will see in the comparison pics that the g900s pics still look pretty decent against the best camera phone on the market..
here are a couple quotes too (p.s. the g900 was in the comparison was a prototype and we all know the camera unit is generaly upgraded in the final unit)
'Conclusions drawn from the analysis of the camera unit employed by Sony Ericsson G900 are rather ambiguous. The camera unit yields to Nokia N82 in terms of setting variety, photo and video quality, leaving the latter the absolute leader on this front so far. On the other hand, G900 seems to be a better option as long as the camera functionality / overall functionality ratio is concerned, which is on a level with the K850i flagship. Photos of similar quality are also taken with the U900 Soul camera'
'G900 is not an ultimate cameraphone, rather taking the role of a very versatile smartphone with all-embracing functionality and a touchscreen for a chief selling point. If you try to look at it from this position, you get a very balanced solution sold at a very reasonable price. The quality of touchscreen implementation in G900 (as well as G700) is worthy of admiration – the very case where the conventional controls are complemented by the touch functions, yet not duplicated or entirely replaced. Previous UIQ models were known to alienate parts of the audience due to a total lack of conventional navigation buttons, single-handed operation combined with all-touch interface resulted in very low ergonomics and in fact quite unsatisfactory. This problem is now gone with G700 and G900 models'.

I could not agree more =)
I an Esato member, i used to love SE up until the W950 which ... morehang on bro u bought the g900 or not???? u said u considered gettin this phone BUT stuck with your nokia...then u go on to say problems u experienced with it????
hmm...what up with that???
I could not agree more =)
I an Esato member, i used to love SE up until the W950 which was a BEAUTIFUL phone but thats as far as it got, UIQ was implemented very poorly.
Anyway ive been reading a lot of G900 posts in different Forums since i was considering getting this device but ive decided to stick with NOKIA after having ths device in my hand. There are a lot of design faults like dust getting in to the screen VERY easily, camera pics being blurry or just bad colour reproduction, better than K850 but still not satisfactory, UI being sluggish, high bit rate videos freezing and still very little software for it. Must say i was let down, and it seems that the dust problem in the screen, bad camera and sluggish UI are common, nearly every complaint i read about for this phone is something i experienced with it, and most forums are complaining about it, saying its too little hardware for the price, i agree, thought SE cared, but the lack of even a memory card in the sales package says a lot.

http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=170470&start=... moreYes, nice forum :)))
People post pictures (picture quality) that other G900 owners can not duplicate.
Nice for SE sales and PR.
The fact is that all owners can agree that this phone has problems with its camera - especially indoor or outdoor when
not totally sunny.
The processor slow!
I guess SE can afford a few teens to jam forums with fake pictures and fantastic comments.
for LEGIT G900/G700 users forum:
the pictures taken by these phones have vibrant colors even though they are not camera phones.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970yup, your absolutely right.
i need help asap am thinking about special ordering this phone, but want to know how the music player is on loudspeaker? is it like the k850, c702 etc or not?
new sms feature. still getting use to phone new keypad function. Near to full touchscreen for options.
does it playback flash vids? like youtube etc?
I have used two G900 and they were total disappointment for me. The menu system is bad and slow. The camera quality is much worst than an average 3mp camera in other Sony Ericsson phone.
˝Today I looked at the Sony G900. I did not even try to turn on the phone. The phone looked so cheap looking and cheap made. It is also so over priced. Good Lock Sony. I bought instead HTC Diamond. Great phone and now I see gsmarea announced Samsung i900. Nice looking phone.˝
Alright guys, I got this phone one week ago and I have to say, its a satisfying phone. There is an image stabaliser in the camera options as opposed to someone earlier saying there wasn't. Decent 5mp camera as expected from a Generation type phone, keypad a bit difficult to type with and some lag with start ups
Can this phone play flash videos like youtube? help people please, your answer will be one of my basis whether to buy this phone or buy Nokia N82, thanks
this phone is great. design, features, performance and everything else. just watch it http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/mobilephones/overview/g900?cc=gb&lc=en
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970this fone is ok not the best in the world but its ok i just bought mine so yea its so cool
... to continue further.
- There is NO Image stabilizer present in the camera options.
- To be honest the different in the touch screen from P1i or W960, it's just a placebo effect given by the new look. The phone comes with a two mode theme phase, if you select 'Business' it gives you the P1i look and the other would give the new fun theme.
This has been my personal experience with this device.
I got my hands on this phone two weeks ago and I am sorry to say SE has failed us this time.
- The WiFi doesn't fails to connect to a WiFi N network.
- Camera is pathetic, the touch focus is not easy as expected.
- Phone has got an amazing touch response, but sadly the software does tend to lag after sometime of use (even after terminating background apps)
- The Signal reception is horrible. Places where phones like Nokia, HTC or any other phone would give at least 3-4 bars. This phones completely gives up.
I strongly suggest that you all purchase the phone only after SE has fixed these major flaws in their firmware.
