If you have a T-MOBILE, this phone will work just fine. however, if you have ATT/Cingular, you'll have problem to get signals in most areas.
ATT works with the 850 mhz band.

gavster, 08 Jun 2008??? that's not even responsive to my statements. If you are talking about the screen, I was re... moreThis is absolutely the flagship of SE!!!

The XPEDIA X1 is not out!!!!

But even when it is out, it has no chance to generate a huge sales since it will be very expensive, and a large phone.

This phone suppose to be the best featured everyday phone.

The CPU is not just ˝not the best˝ but a huge mistake!!!!! SE cheapness and greed screwed up this phone all potential success.

Go and try it! It is slow in every way! Some setting adjustment takes seconds!!!

IT is also overpriced!!!!!

But, I agree: the price will drop relatively fast - people will find out the negatives and SE´s reliability issues.

(BTW - it is absolutely unacceptable that this is only triband while C902 and many other phones Quads!!!!)

G900 is very good when reading the specifications, Actually it is missing very common tasks like, One touch Contacts button. We need to to thru menus to get to Contact and search for a person. Its really hard when driving.
Other thing it does not have very good search, If I enter "Thomson", it would only give results which starts with 'thomson', it will not find 'Victoria thomson'.
I think Sony sould not ommit things like this!!!!

I personaly think that this phone has got some great features, having used the SE M600i myself and being thoroughly convinced, I am waiting to buy the G900 ( price being a little high ). For a person who has used the communicator and the SE smart phone, I think the phone is of good spec. Especially the notes which can be saved on screen. Will give more feedback once I have my hands on it.

Let me say this: if you like this phone, please try it. Most shops allow you to use it for a test drive. for example here in the U.K, i would go into a shop, ask the staff to let me test drive the phone and if i wanted to check out the camera, music capabilities, blogging etc the staff would be happy to help. Go to your local store and a member of staff would be happy to give you a demo; be prepared for the sales pitch though;)

Anonymous, 07 Jun 2008The problem with your argument is that while the 2.4˝ screen has 43% larger screen area (vs. 2... more??? that's not even responsive to my statements. If you are talking about the screen, I was referring to those people who are asking for a much bigger screen. To put it simply (specially for you) all I want to say is that if you want a bigger screen (i.e,3") your phone would get bigger and the power consumption would be much higher.

But if you are reaaaally desperate for a bigger screen, there are a lot of phones in the market that are suited for your needs, go buy that, there's no reason to hang in this forum.

Regarding the CPU, while this is definitely not the best cpu, you have to remember that this is also not the flagship phone of SE, but this phone is by NO means slow either. can you give specific example why you say this phone is slow? or maybe you haven't tried this phone at all?

Touchscreen phones is the way to go, this is where the trend is going. In a few years time (1 or 2 years in cellphone time) non-touchscreen phones would be left behind if not obsolete.

but to those who want to buy this phone, I suggest that you would wait for the price to settle in a month or two. Initial prices are usually high.

the G900 should work just fine in the US i had the Sony Ericsson W850 and it has the same GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 and UMTS 2100 as the G900 so the G900 should work just fine and also planning on getting it this month

This sense the G900 would be great compare to W890 or C902 - those are totally over priced junks.

The big problem with the G900 - CPU is slow!!!!!!!

actually, if you know what you are doing, you can customize every aspect of UIQ system, from themes, menu icons and even some part of the software itself! i.e., walkman 3 interface

IMO, one of the reason why SE developed smartphone for the masses is because it would mean more software. More UIQ based phones, the more software developers would produce softwares.

Regarding the screen. Guys be sensible! the bigger the screen doesn't necessarily mean better, you might as well buy yourself a laptop! it's as big as you can get! having a bigger screen would defeat the purpose of having a "mobile" phone! get it? meaning you can take it with you everywhere with ease! besides, the bigger the screen and the bigger the pixel count would mean the bigger the power consumption! if you are complaining about how short the talk time of mobile phones have become, i guess you can already guess how much worse it would be if you have twice the power consumption!

think before you ask! be careful what you wish for . . . it might cause the company to go bankrupt :p

SEs should:
- have a lot of programs like Nokia.
- change style Menu like Message,Clock,Contact.....
- have a lot of Icons like Nokia.
- have Large Screen

I think that if SEs have all my requests above,it will become the most popular mobile phones.
Thanks
