Let me say this: if you like this phone, please try it. Most shops allow you to use it for a test drive. for example here in the U.K, i would go into a shop, ask the staff to let me test drive the phone and if i wanted to check out the camera, music capabilities, blogging etc the staff would be happy to help. Go to your local store and a member of staff would be happy to give you a demo; be prepared for the sales pitch though;)
Anonymous, 07 Jun 2008The problem with your argument is that while the 2.4˝ screen has 43% larger screen area (... more??? that's not even responsive to my statements. If you are talking about the screen, I was referring to those people who are asking for a much bigger screen. To put it simply (specially for you) all I want to say is that if you want a bigger screen (i.e,3") your phone would get bigger and the power consumption would be much higher.
But if you are reaaaally desperate for a bigger screen, there are a lot of phones in the market that are suited for your needs, go buy that, there's no reason to hang in this forum.
Regarding the CPU, while this is definitely not the best cpu, you have to remember that this is also not the flagship phone of SE, but this phone is by NO means slow either. can you give specific example why you say this phone is slow? or maybe you haven't tried this phone at all?
Touchscreen phones is the way to go, this is where the trend is going. In a few years time (1 or 2 years in cellphone time) non-touchscreen phones would be left behind if not obsolete.
but to those who want to buy this phone, I suggest that you would wait for the price to settle in a month or two. Initial prices are usually high.
Anonymous, 08 Jun 2008nothing good will going to come out from mstl. Cause obviously he's a nokia fanboy. Wonder wha... morenokia fanboys always bash SE because they are uncivilized people, while the SE people have common sense and are able to restrain themselves from doing dumb things
hahaha, its really fun looking at many ppl in this forum speak about G900 but not having the phone themself! how can you comment so much? without having the phone set? bunch of rubbish! Best thing is , me having great fun with my new G900, its been a week now... still discovering... way to go SE.
nothing good will going to come out from mstl. Cause obviously he's a nokia fanboy. Wonder what he's doing here in the first place.
the G900 should work just fine in the US i had the Sony Ericsson W850 and it has the same GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 and UMTS 2100 as the G900 so the G900 should work just fine and also planning on getting it this month

This sense the G900 would be great compare to W890 or C902 - those are totally over priced junks.
The big problem with the G900 - CPU is slow!!!!!!!
actually, if you know what you are doing, you can customize every aspect of UIQ system, from themes, menu icons and even some part of the software itself! i.e., walkman 3 interface
IMO, one of the reason why SE developed smartphone for the masses is because it would mean more software. More UIQ based phones, the more software developers would produce softwares.
Regarding the screen. Guys be sensible! the bigger the screen doesn't necessarily mean better, you might as well buy yourself a laptop! it's as big as you can get! having a bigger screen would defeat the purpose of having a "mobile" phone! get it? meaning you can take it with you everywhere with ease! besides, the bigger the screen and the bigger the pixel count would mean the bigger the power consumption! if you are complaining about how short the talk time of mobile phones have become, i guess you can already guess how much worse it would be if you have twice the power consumption!
think before you ask! be careful what you wish for . . . it might cause the company to go bankrupt :p
somebody, 07 Jun 2008which is better lg viewty or g900i think it's gona be S.E G900 , couse LG isn't very good phones as we all know. but G900 also have stickynotes, that is function u can paint anything and just save it, like a map or other stuff, and just save for later look... simple but usefull , u don't need a4 paper and pen to check something :)
Scre me myself for buying the samsung g600..
if only i know sony's had this perfect phone! *sigh..
g600 was 5mgp though...
but sony g900 is way better because of compactness STYLUS? !
A BIGG yay!
- have a lot of programs like Nokia.
- change style Menu like Message,Clock,Contact.....
- have a lot of Icons like Nokia.
- have Large Screen
I think that if SEs have all my requests above,it will become the most popular mobile phones.
All SEs should have large screen like Nokia.
I 1 SE G900,but it's expensive.
I'm looking 4ward to lower price.
It is less than 500 USD in the US and widely available - not to much interest about it!
I think it will be 400 USD soon!
Dubai-smoker, 07 Jun 2008It's USD600$ here in Dubai. Over expensive phone. Will wait for price drop. You do not need to wait long - recent SE phones do not keep their prices - see W890 -35% in 6 weeks!!!!!
