let me remind you first that the G900 is NOT a camera-centric device, it's not in the cyber-shot family. so stop bashing about the picture quality.

if it's a camphone that you're looking for then look someplace else.

but for me, i really do like the G900's simplicity and i can't wait to own one.

It's design is very generic. Too bad. It has very good specs.

the camera quality posted on esato
http://www.esato.com/phonephotos/index.php?make=SONY%20ERICSSON&model=SONY%20ERICSSON%20G900

i'm relieved to know that its definitely better than the prototype, But I have mixed reactions about it.

on one hand the color is vibrant, but on the other, I dont know what to make of it but seems like a bad case of noise reduction and color saturation, you can actually see the pixelated color shifting from one color to the other, plus it looks like a water colored picture

hmmm... but the 90% downscaled version solves this, overall, the quality is not that good, but good enough for a smartphone. well done SE!

the moment of truth!

now that G900 hits the store, anyone care to post the camera quality of a final version???

to answer queries below, yes it does have office application. You can also install third party application.

this phone is not that much different from P1i. only the 5MP and wifi b/g separates it from P1i, but the quality of the camera is still in question as of the moment, and the wifi G is really just meant for those who have faster internet connection in excess of 11Mbps.

some go for the C902 for specific reason like the cam quality and phone design. And I go for the G900 for the reason that it has wi-fi and touchscreen. And its like having a P1 with alphanumeric keypad.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970The sound quality is exactly the same on both handsets but you are right, for the screen size and touch screen features. If that's what you like then that's the phone for you.

Anonymous, 30 May 2008N82 is the benchmark for all mobile phones right now.. but is a little on the chunky side for ... moreJust to clarify. The G900 and C902 have the same SONY camera lens but the C902 has got PhotoFlash (performance very close to Xenon flash and can be used in continuous mode for shooting videos at night in QVGA 30fps quality) whereas the G900 only has a photolight which is not very good. So, the camera quality is much better in the C902 which also comes with all the Cybershot features (auto-rotate, bestpic, dedicated touch sensitive buttons, and the lens is proecteted unlike the G900)

I personnally tried both phones, and camera wise the C902 wins hands down. The flash is surprisingly powerful, I was impressed!

What do you guys think? Would you prefer the G900 over the C902? And what would be your reasons? For me it is the C902, design and camera are important for me.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970N82 is the benchmark for all mobile phones right now.. but is a little on the chunky side for me...id go the g900 over the c902 (ive read in a number of reviews the cameras quality in both ph's are exactually the same) but your gettin wi-fi and and of course the touchscreen with the G900. Ive got a samsung u900 and i think its pretty dam good! but yeah ph conversations can be a little quiet sometimes..the samsung g810 looks nice but again for me its too chunky. the lg's secret has had some bad reviews for its touchscreen responsiveness.
Im probably gunna purchase the SE g900 soon because not havin gps or the best quality 5mp cam is not really that big of a deal to me ans its spose to have a great mp3 player also.. If i wasnt so picky in regards to ph size id choose the n82 for sure. but id pick the g900 from the phones u have mentioned. thats my opinion..hope that helps

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Hi Sheriff. I understand your dilemna. The problem today is that you will not get all the things you want in one phone. It's pure marketing, so that they can target specific customer groups with specific features (xenon, wifi, etc). In my opinion you should chose the phone that has the most important features for your needs.

For example, me I couldn't choose between G900 and C902, and I finally decided to go for the C902 since the degisn and camera quality (Cybershot branding) is what mattered the most to me. Plus it is quad band and HSDPA unlike the G900. Now if you want absolutely touch screen and don't care much about sleek design then the G900 is a good option. Hope that helps!
