I think it is okay to share all the -ve things that anyone has experienced with this phone...
it is a lot better that way, so that we know what we are buying and not feel like we've been ripped off after we have the phone, in a case where we are not satisfied with it...
but it would really help if whoever commented on the phone give a neutral view and not just any random -ve comments about it...
no one will gain any benefit anyway by telling people not to buy this phone or anything of the sort...
(Nothing better to do...)
@ Jeremy, actually it has the same screen dimensions as the P1, P900, P910 and so on... 320*240, the screen is smaller in G900 I agree but same pixels, I prefer smaller screen with same pixels, it looks so precise to me. :)
Anonymous, 13 Nov 2008im glad i found this page where you guys leave comment on this fone.. i was about to buy it.. ... moreSomeone here said long time ago that complaining is people's nature. Yes, it is. If something goes wrong we are shouting about it on every corner. And hardly anyone would praise and thank the manufacturer for the device we adore and love. Very few of those posting here belong to the second group. This is the place to complain, to share problems and to find solutions to them. Very few of us are helping people to understand what they really own, why and what is the couse of their wrong attitude. If you don't like the device keep your opinion to yourself, don't make other people loose their chance for joy and happyness. We are saying that the problems may happen but not that they actually exist in every device. PLEASE, EVERYONE MIND THAT!
im glad i found this page where you guys leave comment on this fone.. i was about to buy it.. thankgoodness i didnt!
The G900 is the best Symbian UIQ 3 phone that Sony Ericsson have made. It's a shame it doesn't have the same size screen as the SE P1i.
Amanda, 12 Nov 2008The battery life is shocking, Im having to charge it every night. other than that i absolutely... moreTry to turn 3G off if you don't use it, that should improve battery life.
I had this phone for 3 months now the only problem i had is the touch screen it keep on failing me its like the phone don't have the touch feature i keep on reinstalling the firmware to solve this issue
This phone is a nightmare. I had mine for 2 days before I started experiencing problems. The sofware hangs and I have to remove the battery to use it again. Currently, my camera sofware doesnt work. The battery is terrible. On average I make 20 minutes of calls a day and I have to charge this phone everyday.
I will never buy another Sony Ericsson again. I dont advise anyone to get this phone.
The G900 supports Blackberry Connect.I have installed it and it works perfectly. It is a very underestimated phone.I also have the P1i but I don't like the rocker keypad on it.
Call quality and volume from the earpiece speaker is very good,as good as P1i,if not better.
The G900 battery is a BST33.On the P1i it is BST34.
The G900 is no slower than my P1i.
The battery life is shocking, Im having to charge it every night. other than that i absolutely love the phone and getting on with it just fabby
it's camera is trashy ! it work very slow and it's ram is very low ! i am very penitent for chang my k800 with this phone!! :(
The camera quality is too poor and the phone keeps freezing and i cant acess the internet via WLAn.i'm a little disappionted i bought the phone 2 days ago
the best phone ever (better than c902 )
Navigating thru the phone can be slow and painstaking. it has excellent applications and features, the touchscreen and camera features are all great. the phone only has 126MB of RAM, which cannot handle the high demanding software apps, hence why it is slow. the sticky notes and handwriting recognition features are awesome. great for that need of spontaneous note taking. very thin and light weight phone. you can upgrade to 8G of external memory. great organiser for those that have so many things to do and to remember!! over all, this is the perfect phone for the person who likes to take pictures for cropping and editing and sharing, and for staying organized on the fly, and for storing music, podcasts, surfing the internet via Opera.
I have my G900 for a couple of months and I'm getting well with it.
My only HUGE dissapointment is the battery.
It is not as described in specification -not to say "far away" from the lasting time promised- and I would like to know your oppinion about it, as I may have got a faulty one as long as my battery it is not lasting at least 1/4 of the descripion time.
Thank you.
BopZ, 11 Nov 2008in general, G900 is better than W960... but it's all up to you, like what do you want from ... moreThats right, I really suggest you go to a retail shop and try out the unit before you go and buy the unit. I was not thinking and decided to buy it from other peoples opinions and suggestions, I find it okay to use but I would of gone with a cheaper phone, but its also a really useful phone indeed :D
SE_crazy, 10 Nov 2008Guys,
What you recommend...W960 or G900?
Thanks a lot in advance! =)in general, G900 is better than W960...
but it's all up to you, like what do you want from your phone...?
don't just trust what people say n it's always better to try on your own...
n know what u want...
Anonymous, I don't think this phone can do any of those security things u mentioned...
yara, I think you will need a constant update of this phone software...
or do you mean an update of a different kind...?
the office editing is really quite good, n I haven't seen any kind of limitations for excel files...
the web browsing experience is also quite good, especially with the help of the touchscreen...
you can use landscape or portrait view, fit to screen or not, yeah, all the basics...
the wi-fi is also very simple to use...
I'm not so sure about N95, never really tried one, but I know one thing for sure, it's a lot bigger than G900...
sorry
