Alarm clock doesn't work when phone is out!!! No spelling suggestions, you can't add words to the dictionary. Pitty because the rest is good.
its t9 typing speed is above average i.e. faster than other brands except Nokia. i can type 'complicated' twice fast w/o problem when all the keys were pressed correctly.
since there's no memory slot the stereo FM radio with RDS is very useful cos its 3.5mm audio jack is compatible with any standard earphone!
the best thing abt J132 is its price in UK. it cost just £4.84 plus £10 airtime purchase. i only paid £4.84 in total after trade-in my old nokia phone. and its unlocked too.
Efire -> go for it. its better than j120
Hi zest im from Singapore too. Haha... Based on my experience on my j120, to enter your own word you just have to press up to reach the last entry which is to spell your own word. As for the message tone I believe you need to put the phone to silent mode (not keypad tone) in order to mute the send message tone.
Anyway, could you help me do a simple test on the J132's messaging, by typing any long words like "complicated" twice using fast keystrokes and the T9 and see if it will be able to display the words without 'forgetting' any keypress? (My J120 showed me "Complace complia" -_-) Thanks! :)
i bought this phone a few days back ago in Singapore @ S$60. great phone for those who do not need camera.
1) However, i want to point out that when using T9 for sms, there is no spell suggestion. Meaning that, if you want to type a word that has no spelling suggestion, you have to off the dictionary can manually type the word that you wanted. So i want to ask if anyone know how the "Spell" suggestion will come out?
2) also when message is sent, it give a message tone ( key tone sound is off), anyone know how to off that?
other than that, this hp got great battery life cos i been using the 2nd day after charing the phone and its still full bar. =)
Can anyone who owns this phone comment on the messaging speed? I own a J120 and something that annoys me is that the phone cannot catch up with my typing speed. When I type too fast, especially when pressing a same button twice, it will simply forget the keypress.
Other low end phones from Samsung and Nokia take time to display what i type but eventually what i was typing always show up, so its not as bad.
Please help me consider whether to do the 'upgrade' from j120 to j132. :)
Genuine enquirer, 04 Jan 2009Does anyone (who actually has one of these)know/ can check - when you loose power (dead / remo... moreIf you eject the battery you will have to set the time & day again, but that's liek 15 seconds work.
If the phone turns off because the battery is empty but you don't remove battery it will remember time & date. That's because when the phone turns off on "battery empty" it means there is not enough power left to make a phonecall. But there is enough power left in the battery to run the internal clock until you recharge it, so you won't have to enter the time all over again.
Mine has excellent battery life, if I don't talk very much battery lasts at least a week, sometimes 10 days, and phone is on all day every day, sometimes when I sleep. I always charge the phone when the phone's off and battery is completely empty. This is version for European market (says EU 900 when I open the lid), branded by T-Mobile Croatia (basic prepaid).
Instructions on how to open it: there is a small hole in the back of the phone. Use your fingernail on that hole, pull it downwards (towards the USB and earphone connectors). It will click and slide down aproximatelly 1 mm. Now hold that small part that slided firmly, with fingernails of one hand and stick your other hand's fingernail (index finger) into MiniUSB port. Pull in opposite directions, it will open.
To eject battery there's a small hole inside on the lower part (close to USB ports), where you stick fingernail or screwdriver and it will pop out. SIM card is under the battery, easy to put in and remove.
If you eject the battery you will have to set the time & day again, but that's liek 15 seconds work.
Hope this helps.
colin greenford, 28 Dec 2008great little phone...but how do you turn up the volume during a call!!specs say volume keys @ ... moreDuring a phone call (while calling), press up or down button (navigation button: FM or Address book)
This phone has 3.5mm audio jack and mini usb port. Can be charged from PC or Laptop using standard mini usb cable.
Good battery life. While this is the cheapest, it has the feature of the most expensive SE phone.
This phone can share the same Charger with SE X1.
Does anyone (who actually has one of these)know/ can check - when you loose power (dead / remove battery) does the phone loose its settings? i.e date and time.
For occasional use and may go a while without a charge, don't want a phone i have to set up every blue moon before i use it.
Thanks

hi the phone is very bad battery life is too short as china model only use in that phone is fm sound is quite good
the torch is not good should have one like the nokia 1208
hmm. . . looks like the copy of nokia's 1100. . . the torch function and the keypad?
Isn't it ironic that this low end phone has a 3.5 mm jack but other Sony Ericsson *ERM WALKMAN PHONES!* have that stupid proprietary jack?
If not mistaken entry level phones like S302, W302, F305, J132, K330 is not purely made by SE but by Sagem. So maybe there's is incompatibility like in themes, application etc. From now all entry level phones from SE will be made by Sagem.
