IMHO I think Asfand Yar has made a very good analysis.

This phone is a compromise and the three things he states must have been cut by Sony Ericsson to save cost. Better diplay can be found on K500 and other more expensive phones. An even better display, more memory and bluetooth can be found on K700. A real MP3 machine and a MP camera worth it's name can be found on K750 and W800. These phone also have the possibility to accept memory cards.

        Sir,
i think this is a good cell fone, because of its sound quality and size and also shape.but its has three disadvantages
        1.Diplay
        2.Memory
        3.Blue tooth

I promise you that the blue triangle is the GPRS indicator. It just means that the Phone has a GPRS signal; not that it is fully activated and using it.

Below you have the GSM signal indicator which can vary 0-5 staples (what you call "cascading squares" - this indicates how close you are to the base station your phone is connected to (how good GSM radio signal you have). But even when you have 5 staples, it doesn't mean it's fully active, does it? You are not always having a call, right?

GPRS just means that you can wap and send/receive MMS quicker. Technically, you can still wap/send MMS with GSM; it's just much slower.

The globe is an indicator that you are waping and if the blue light is on you are utilizing GPRS.

thanks budddy..for ur instant reply.u seem to be the most active member on this forum!
r u the Problem SOLVER for every one!

well in refrence to the querries posted earlier ..The Blue light...i dont tkink so that its a GPRS indicator coz wen u exit from ur browser u can also see a globe just next to the signal power which vanishes within a second or two and this light is still there even if u switch ur cp off nd then back on ...also wat r these 4 cascading squares just next to the same thing..i think its somwat related to profiles or may be vibrator indicator ..plz clarify

                    No,

the whole point of infrared (IR) is that you don't need cables (but you need an IR port on the PC). It is the same technology as in remote controls for video, tv etc.

That's why some people actually use this technology in their mobile phones to control their TV/dvd etc (this is done by downloading programs for this via internet - I do not recommend this and will not give download sites for this - this you can search for yourself - however it's possible).

Hi all... mr unknown (who asked abt a gud phone of cost abt 6500), i wud recommend K300i.. coz its the best thr is in its range... if u want 2 buy a new one then wait for a month or so then its price will be about 6500... but if u r in a hurry then go for a good second hand K300i.. it will cost u abt 6500-6700... nd ensure tht the set is OK nd it has got warrenty of Mobile Zone coz all other warrenty mobiles are not working very good.. nd its the best thr is .. so don't worry and just go for it..

                          Riyan,

it depends on your own perspective! If you are used to black/white TV it is OK. But if you are used to colour TV, black/white TV it is not acceptable. If you are used to DVD quality, video quality might be unacceptable. The same thing goes for displays. What phone have you been using up till now, and how would you rate it?

K300 has better display quality than T610 but worse than K500, K700, K750. It all depends on what you are used to.

                              Prashant Bhutani,

                              1) blue light above the signal power is indication of GPRS in use
                              2) download modem software at sonyericsson website. Read my other posts below for exact address.
                              3) it is a matter of opinion. Try it yourself and see.
                              4) cable 2 be used is DCU 11. Check out websites/shops for prices

                                    RKXJ,

                                    1) Unfortunately I do not live where you do and have no idea about the market; prices and currencies where you live. It is better if you compare specifications of different phones in the price range you are thinking of. You can also check sites like this and see what is said on the forums for each of the phones. Lastly I recommend seeing the phones live before buying.

                                    2) What do you mean by screen - the actual plastic on top of the display? It is very scratch resistent; actually one of the most scratch resistent screens I have tested on any phone. By this I don't mean that one should drag the phone on the floor etc, but I always have the phone in the same pocket as my (sharp) keys and this usually wears out the phone. My K300 still shows no wear on the screen after more than 6 months!
