I wrote its pros. and cons. -based on my personal opinion- about 3 days ago, you'll find the post in page 3 or 4 in this forum.
"Shahzad" also wrote the goods and bads in this phone -based on his personal opinion-, though I do have to comment on some parts of his post.
It's been confirmed then, thanks very much for the very useful information.
Maybe it's just too sensitive to you, or you were too hard in using it till damaging it, or simply you had a bad luck to get a faulty unit.
I started to think about the triangle of (Service provider, Protectd content, Firmware) once I read the first part of your post, luckily "m4m" also agrees with me, so check his post out.
About the second part of your post, I have no complaints about it at all, bluetooth technology is A VERY USEFULL tranferring method, just I have to comment or state the fact that also using the USB cable in transferring data or particularly songs/MP3's isn't bad & won't make any errors in transferred songs as long as the user used the correct procedures -such as a proper installing of the Suite and the driver with updating to the final USB driver (no need for that step now as long as you'll copy into the MS only), copying into the correct folder, and using the latest firmware-. Maybe you don't have the latest firmware, or even have it installed but still have that USB cable bug in your phone for I only use the USB cable in transferring MP3's into my phone and I can find & play all of them after removing the cable, no additional useless files, no empty files and no unplayable files, I can find all the MP3's which I copied just where I copied them and all are playable and I can delete any of them when I need to.
I have to comment on some of the bads which you say that are present in your phone.
The phone in general isn't slow at all, I invite you to play with any motorola E398 to know what SLOW MENU/PERFORMANCE really is, K750 will be slow only when you open folders that contains lots of files, especially the Pictures folder for it has to draw a thumbnail for each picture -which is pretty normal even in desktop fastest processor-, even that is a way lot faster in latest firmware according to my actual observation.
You needn't to charge the phone for more than 4 hours in first time then 2 hours later -I wrote before about my experience with Fully charged indicator that didn't start to show up in my phone untill I used the phone for a whole month, before that your phone won't display it even if you charge it or let me say OVER-charge it more than 12 hours-.
The last thing is the camera sound, in fact, you can mute it if you live in a country that isn't much strict in privacy laws carrying out, to find out if you can mute it in your current country firmware or not, simply put the phone into silent mode before opening the lens cover.
It's kinda normal, even your PC operating system -microsoft windows or any other OS- will start to act up with time, it's always an indicator that your current OS needs to be formatted and that a clean install is needed.
You need to flash your phone into a newer firmware, but if you don't want to take that risk or currently using your country/service provider latest one, all you can do about it is resetting the phone when you wake up -switch it off then wait half a minute before switching it back on again- and whenever it starts to act up with you, I reset the phone several times a day myself to maintain the highest working performance -I learned that form my windows, if I kept it idle for sometime then started to use my PC again, I find the performance rate becomes kinda slower (maybe this doesn't actually happening but I feel that) so I reset the PC to get its highest performance rate again-.
Your K750 storage capacity has nothing to do with the general performance of your phone, using a larger MS will increase the efficiency of your phone by being able to carry more files and applications, but as I just wrote a few moments ago, opening a folder with 15 files inside of it will take less time than opening a folder that contains 50 files, but it won't affect the general performance rate.
No, that was true/correct in the past, now K750 users can only flash their K750 devices into K750 firmware, so as W800 users.
No, there isn't any difference in music play back quality in both K750 and W800 devices, you'll only notice a differnce because both models uses a different model of headsets, even both models have the same loud speaker.
Yo,is it true that u can upgrade software to w800?And then u gain music only mode? And plz tell me is there any difference in playing mp3 on w800 and k750?
I hope some1 answer :)
Hi @DoUL ,
I have been using SE K750i for about 3 months. Recently my phone has been freezing a lot when running any application(like games, videos etc.). Even otherwise when am not using it for a log time it becomes very slow(response rate becomes approx 5-10 sec).
Do you know why this is happening? My memory status is ok(about 20Mb in phone and 10 mb in card). This gets recitified only when I switch off and turn on again.
Also could you tell me if I insert a 1GB or 512MB card will it increase or decrease in efficiency(will it work better).
First the good. MP3 player is top notch. Makes you wonder why Nokia even boasts of an MP3 player. Only wish it was a bit louder as traffic can drown out the music. The camera is VERY good. Pictures are comparable with a 2MP digicam from a respectable brand and can easily outperform cheaper cameras from unknown brands. Flash is very powerful but i got the add on flash as well which helps a lot. You can take a picture in complete darkness and the external flash does wonders. The built in flash is decent as well for night shots.
The bad. The phone is a bit slow. Like you click on a button and it takes a small fraction to do as you wanted to. The joystick is good but is very sensitive. Sometimes while hitting up you end up pushing it and a call gets dialed. Again, this is not a defect just that it is sensitive. The built in games suck! Come on Sony! Give us better games. The keypad is not very comfortable. It is usable but not as comfortable as the nokia or LG phones that I used previously. Would have liked changable covers as well! Battery life is good for one day using the MP3 player for an hour as well. Doesn't get close to the claimed time though. Battery takes forever to charge compared to my Nokia which charged in 2 hours. Screen quality is way better than the Nokia but not as colourful as the Samsung. The memory card slot has a weak cover so one needs to take caution when removing the card. Camera makes a noise when you click it and it can't be disabled. Video recording is poor compared to the competition. The phone is better than the competition though if you consider it mainly for it's picture quality and MP3 capability.
I remember when the first k750i vf branded came out, it only played mp3 protected ringtones, this did change i a later software version, as the new ones are fine.
check your version and try to get the firmware updated to latest version.
First of all, that's really nice of you coming to help to all those people having problem wiv their phone.
I love the k750i, i've had many phones, but for me it's far the best one! I use to have it, then it's been stolen (i was devastated!), so i tried to change and got the Moto V3, which is crap and I bought another k750i. The difference with the one before is, it is a Vodaphone one that i have unlock to put an Orange SIM card in it. It works properly, but just one thing: I can get mp3s on it that i can play, but can't use them as ringtones or nothing, and i know it's not normal as i was able to on my former Orange k750i (that was also unlocked.) Can you help me on that.
Also I would strongly advise people to use bluetooth to transfer pictures or mp3s than the cable, as the cable gives the normal file, and another one, empty, that you can't play and, worse, you can't delete. Unless someone helps me on that too!
Waiting for your answers and your help please!
guys who uses windows xp any edition.
your k750i works as a mass storage devise when you usb plug it to your pc some times the cd is neede other times it's not.
mostly it depends on you windows updates.
note that when you plug the phone sometimes the card is lost simply when you finish the downloading from and to the phone turn off and then on again and enjoy.
(the computer deal with you external storage only and not your phone)
thank you gsmarena staff
Can anyone tell me what are the disadvantages of this model?
Also the advantages?
You can't directly block a contact, instead you creat a group in which you put the contacts you agree to receive calls from, any other caller that isn't in that group will be automatically blocked.
seany ericsson k750i
Are you sure ?? Have you tried that and it worked the way you describe it ??
K750 as far as I know doesn't have a standard support for USB mass storage -it's even mentioned as one of this device cons. in its review- so the PC Suite has to be installed in order to make the PC identify that thing which is on the other side of the USB cable -including the MS-, if you're very sure about your information -and tried it yourself and it worked fine with you- then it will be such a nice & helpful information indeed !.
Seems that you and "jack" wrote a couple of posts which I guess the site hided them for some reason, something about MP3 transferring into your phone, I don't know what's the problem, but what I want you to know in general is just don't put them in the MP3 folder which you find once you open the Removable Disk for the phone won't identify some or all of them for unknown reason, instead put them in MP3 folder which is located into those folders: MSSEMC --> Media files --> audio.
And you're welcome, nothing to mention at all, glad that you like your phone. -lucky erick- ehm ehm hey jack did you say something ?? ;).
Man, as I said before I can't help anyone with hardware issues, I'm not working at SE so I don't know the price, you won't pay a penny if your phone is still in the warantty period.
Waiting for the link, but can I ask why friday in particular ??!!
OOOHH FINALLY A NIGHT WITHOUT TOO MANY QUESTIONS, FINALLY A NIGHT IN WHICH I CAN PLAY N4S MOST WANTED FOR A LONGER TIME.
DAYM, I'M A HAPPY MAN :D :D
wow @DouL, that explanation was really enlightening, i appreciate it. :) i was really worried something was wrong with my new phone or my PC!
thanks for the added info jack. :)
Godbless, guys.. enjoy the phone, it's the best ever! well worth it! no regrets for me :)
the left button next to the joystick feels loose any tips on how to get this fixed and how much it costs.
hi i have a great software that converts dvd movies to 3gp so u can watch them on k750i!!!!!!.
i downloaded the free trial and it was ace.
the full version costs £29.99 i will post the website you can download it from on friday night or day depending which country u live in.
k750i the best phone.
thanks ericks girl:
when u are putting mp3 on the phone via the usb cable be paitient as it sometimes does not show that it is still putting mp3 on the phone.also it does not show on my pc so i wait 30 seconds between putting each mp3 onto the phone.
sony ericson k750i the best!!!!!!
(until k800i comes out).
The answer to all your problems at the very easiest method is dont use any software at all. dont load the se disc into your computer. put the usb lead into your pc and it will use your phone memory and memory stick as a hardrive. drag and drop everything into the correct folders and they will be stored on your phone.
Can I block a contact so that he will get a busy tone when calling me?
I'm neither a mobile analyst nor working in mobile phones idustry. I'm only here just because I own a K750i and I liked the idea of sharing my experience with others, that's all.
I don't know anything about any of philips models, they are not that popular in my country (Egypt), you can compare any model with others using the compare feature which GSMArena gives to you.
Read reviews about each of them to find out with is better for you and which suits your needs more.
I've already wrote my thouts about K750i -it's pros. and cons. based on my personal opinion- two days ago, go and check it.
Well, you wrote "ever since", such phrase has no multiple meanings.
No harm done anyway, best of luck tomorrow.
I didn't measure it myself, but GSMArena analyst which analyzed this model measured it and compared the result with other models in a nice and easy to understand table in the review named "Sony Ericsson K750 review: Get excited!", you can go and see it. To save you your "precious time" it's surface is 10.44 CM (square) in diameter.
Yes, you can view clips/movies in full screen horizontally.
I have no clue to that puzzle.
"tamas" says that it could be a firmware issue, did that issue start to happen to you after a firmware update ?? If yes and/or no -if yes you've updated to the latest firmware, then there is no way to rollback to the previous firmware- I still have no solution for that, such random/unreasonable behaving which is hard to track in order to solve always gets me out of my temper, all I can do about it is one of two things, either I deal with it as it is a accept it as a stated FACT, or I only try to minimize it by not dealing with that crazy part again.
If that only happens when copying into the MS then just copy into your internal memory then move them to the MS when it gets full, and keep doing that till you copy all your data into your MS, or follow tamam's solution, copy them one by one.
Mail SE support about it.
It was me not Yam, you sign in the end of your letter not in its start.
I don't care what you're asking/aiming to in your previous post, it sounded to me that someone is trying to accuse someone else with his own fault rather than a direct, simple and reasonable question.
Anyway, the answer is no, as far as I know there is no media player for K750 other than its default one. You already discovered the only alternative method which allows you to view whatever you want on K750 screen, so ENJOY.
1) If you have an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) PC, then you might find a standard-size MS media slot in your mother board rear I/O connectors or in the front of your case or even in your monitor, but if you built your PC yourself, then it's more likely that you won't find such solt in your PC, so what do I do ?? -you ask-, you need to get a MagicGate-compatible MS reader/writer device.
The funny part is, most of these devices -almost all of them- uses the USB port to connect with your PC, so do you really still thinking about it ?? ;).
2) No, we can't do anything about it untill they remove that limitation in one of the coming firmwares.
There is no direct locking option for the keybad or the folders, all you can do is set a password for both your SIM card and the phone, still you'll be asked for those 2 passwords when you switch on the phone, but once it's on, no passwords. You may google for additional software that you install in your K750 to allow you to do that.
In the mean time, always store/back up your improtant data in your PC.
I've just answered your second question in my posting to "Taneem".
As for your first question, you can use mini opera, I don't know if it's free or not, you can get it from here:
You'll find some other browsers as well, check them out.
It's not a loophole nor an issue nor a bug nor anything else, once you plug the USB cable the phone will not see the MS untill you remove the USB cable.
Both operating systems -windows in your PC and the phone OS- uses two different methods in storing/reading data on/from the memory stick, once the USB cable is plugged the MS has to be disabled from the phone and join the PC as one of its FAT formatted disks -which differs from its format in the phone OS- in order to eliminate any possibility of a corruption/data loss when you transfer data into the MS from the PC.
To save you the trouple of reading some hard technical words, it has to happen that way, your phone will not see the MS once you plug the USB cabel, it's very normal and you needn't worry about it at all.
No, only your MS data that won't be visible, the data which is stored in the phone internal memory will be visible.
im not that techie too. just correct me if im wrong.
i read in some website that once you plug in the usb you really cannot see the contents of your phone's memory or the memory stick. the se program locks it for editing/viewing on the pc, I think.
just try to "google" it. i forgot the web site.
