I'm at the start of my seventh month with this phone (got it 25th Dec 2007) and have to say that overall I have been impressed. The sound quality is great on calls, speaker nice & loud & overall usability is great.
However I have found a few design faults with this that Sony have at least ironed out:
1. The Joystick can be a tempremental sod at times, however thankfully SE have all but done away with joysticks.
2. The lens cover is too loose, what I mean by this is that it can be easily & accidently knocked to the open position & you wouldn't know until the next time you take the phone out of your pocket.
3. The Internet & opposing shortcut buttons are too squashed in next to the softkeys & cancel/back buttons which is rather irritating seeing as you could be in the middle of a message only to accidently slip & hit one of these buttons.
4. The actual camera lens housing sitcks out unneccessarily resulting in the phone being rather bulky in you pocket.
Apart from these small gripes it is a rather good phone indeed, if your thinking of getting it go ahead, however the k810i has ironed out a few of the above problems (camera lens cover & buttons) but sadly still has the fiddly joystick.
8.5/10 from me :^D
this is a good phone especially if ure the first user.take time to learn the fuctions and then enjoy being in the sony ericsson family. no regrets.

i recently bought this phone. I am satisfied with all the features but one thing is irritating me a lot. I can see horizontal lines on the screen when i shake it or change my view perspective, and without any reason at times. this behaviour happens all the time. Is this problem a common thing in this model or all Sony Ericsson phones?
Please advice me!

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970I guess u have installed the applications on the memory stick.
It sometimes happens.
To avoid this problem, always install your apps in the phone memory.
You have to delete all the apps marked with a red cross line. And install them again.
Why you don't try with the "master reset" it probably will delete all your files and make it just like when you buy. I don't have doing that yet, but i think that can work. If you don't have any solution
I downloaded a software from the mobile9. com
website and have tried to install it. Now phone displays a error message operation failed whenever i appemt to access my game or application files. I;m sure what to do now. can someone please help me

George, 26 Jun 2008Yes, but how to turn off the 3g?
Go to menu\ settins\ connectivity\ mobile networks\ GSM/3G networks
Then choose GSM only.
For saving battery u can also:
1)Turn off screensaver
2)Turn off sleep mode clock
3)Put the screen brightness to 50% or 60%
4)Turn off Bluetooth and infrared when u don't use them.
