A perfect thing that i own one. Previously owned nokia had as an advantage seperate ringtones for groups, but this K800 does not have this function, you need to add a ringtone to a person one by one.
Camera - fabulous quality, a quite fast autofocus and flashlight option, but slightly poor video mode. Was impressed by the screen resolution. Overall - a mobile for long.
Had the samsung d900 for 2 months-just switched to k800 - better battery life better camera better phone...sorry samsung but the k800 really is an awesome phone
hehe.. K800 is surely one of the best camera phone i've ever have. I took a picture in a COMPLETE DARKNESS and i still can take a very very very good and sharp picture (with one rule: the object must be pretty close from the camera.. haha.. if its too far then it will become crap).
I tried with time formats also. But then also the alarm is not working.Dont know what to do.SE does not even provide a user friendly manual with the phone.Very poor part of SE.
Jacop, have you checked the clock time format? 12H or 24H? AM or PM? Check this might be the problem
I've had the k700, the k750 and had quite the opportunity to decide between the nokia n73 and the se k800. I decided to stay loyal to SE and go with the k800, as it pleases me that SE has actually taken into consideration what we (the consumers) find as little hindrances. While I still see menu's not popping up as quickly as the Nokia's I find the features of the se800 far outweigh a quarter of a second pop up time. In addition, SE has made it a point to increase the volume of the ear piece, and while it's still not as loud as i'd want it to be, it's loud enough so that in any practical conversation setting, you can hear the other person, while the rest of the public can't. The way it's supposed to be.
Since I live in the States, I find that the k750 has a little more added bonus seeing out mem stick duo is available compared to the m2. Although if you're willing to pay for this phone in the US, you should be willing to pay the 20 bucks more for the memory card.
This phone looks like the best phone in the world and the ultimate power. This phone i am getting soon really soon i dumped the z520 it sucks
This is like one of the most awesome phones I've had. If you have your doubts about this phone i think you should try it out at least.
Can anybody tell me how to test features on any SE device without inserting a SIM card?
Try this: joystk right * joystk left joystk left * joystk left *
move to Service tests and check your phone.
Last option is "Total call time", if You doubt a new phone check this option.
I am still wondering whether I should upgrade from K750i to K800i or switch to nokia and get N73 instead. Pls help me with my concerns.
1.) I find that the charger bundled with sony erricsson models dont last that long. Although I must admit that there are times when I overpull them, I still find the chargers bundled with nokia are more durable (i have used N3650 before i switched to ericsson). Nevertheless, have there been improvements with charger bundled with the k800??
2.) I find that the 'grouping' feature of the k750i very limited. It can only create 10 groups with a maximum of 15 members per group. Has this limitation been adressed on the k800i?
3.) I want my new phone to have satisfactory multitasking capabilities. This is my problem with the k750i because whenever I send group messages (which I do often by the way), I had to wait till my phone finishes sending the message to all group members before I can open other functions (such as opening the inbox, playing games, etc).
5.) Are the multishots using the bestpic trademark clear and sharp? I notice that whenever I use the multishot feature of my k750i, the shots in between end up blurry. Is there any website that have sample pictures of such setting?
6.) I understand that it says on the review that image stabilization is only for video recording mode. Is this really not incorporated when taking pictures? Stabilization is also one problem I noticed with the k750i. A very slight movement causes my shots to end up fuzzy.
7.) I am sorry If sound funny because I demand so much from the K800i, knowing that it only supports an integrated camera -- which are meant for occasional shooting only. Nevertheless, I feel that I am only being reasonable since SE markets the k800i's camera so much.
8.) Finally, is there any news if erricson would be releasing a fone with higher than 3 megapixel resolution, because if it does, ill just wait for that fone to become available. I really find very minimal difference between the k750 and the k800.
I have this great phone for 1 month now. Pictures taken on this phone are excellent. I have no complaints as far as the MP3 player is concerned. It's very functional! Am interested to buy the accessories - MMR-60 (FM transmitter). I wonder if it gives good sound quality on your stereo player. Will appreciate it if someone can give me some feedbacks on this one.

hmmm i wanna use another headset...
but do they fit?
like the one mentioned below comment
and anyone can tell me where to get them?
thanks guys n gals for all the advices!iv been trying to decide between the K800 n W850 and now i know its definitely the K..quality is more important than looks.i guess everyone has their own opinion!for me if i want sound il rather get n ipod..hehe
The k800i is the 1st sony ericsson phone i have ever used as I have always prefered Nokia's, however - i feel that sony ericsson has become far more superiour than the rest of the mobile brands... having used all of the new mobiles that are curently available i find the k800i much easier to use, with more functions and little extras that most of the other mobiles dont have - such as a great picture warper that alows you to warp the pictures of your nearest & dearest to make them look as weird as you wish...great for a bit of fun! Iv never seen such great video & camera quality on any other phone... with this great gadget, not only can you organise your life you can capture the "moment" and take that with you forever. 10/10
i have been using k800 for 2 months this is so good fone i can,t express .it has not one which is privacy for pictures and movies
Use the k800i with the HPM-82 headset. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. The headset that comes with it, HPM-60, is crap. And I think this is the best phone of the lot...
I just bought this phone almost a month now. It's fantastic. The camera works perfectly even at very low-light conditions. No mobile phone could match up to the quality of the pictures rendered by k800 even its direct competitor N73. I bought the brown version because everybody has black. As soon as the silver faceplate is available in sony centers, I would definitely change the faceplates.
Another thing is the games available for k800. 3d games are such a fantastic experience.
The mp3 player although not as good as my previous w810, it's just ok.
K800 is definitely SE best mobile for 2006.
