How about K750/W800? I read that their battery life are more than average and goed camera (2 Mpx).
I think you don't need smartphone.
I have one reason for disliking this phone and that it has made my decision of what phone to upgrade too very difficult.
Had decided on the N80 after having a 6680 for a year but the battery life is frustrating on the 6680, espically if I forget to charge it every night as I usually findmyself with a flat battery mid afternoon on the second day. The N80 being worse of course put me off.
I will admit that I will miss some features of the S60 OS, the copy and paste key is great and very useful (unless the K800 has this facility) and active standby was useful for keeping my life in order.
Though I am not keen on the slide layout and I can see myself dropping the phone as it is top heavy when open and it may have WLAN and lots of things the K800 doesn't have but I am not sure if this will be a problem.
In which case I am looking at the K800 over the N80, for those people who have used both hopefully you can advise if this seems a suitable choice.
Basically I use my phone for personal and business use, use mainily minuites and can talk upto 3 hours in a day of I am busy. I like having contacts with multiple numbers for office, fax, mobile etc. Th eonly real smartphone feature I used on the 6680 was the calender on the active desktop but I managed without for several years. Email I can access via a wap site and my calender is online as I do not use Outlook. I do however use my mobile as a modem a lot which is probally why I don't use the smartphone functions as I have a laptop for word/excel/email etc.
Don't really take many pictures except for the odd one but when I go on holiday just one device would be useful but my 6680 is ok, appart from at night.
Also voice dialing, anybody got experiance of the K800. The 6680 is terrible, like the idea of the virtual tags of the N80 as I liked that on the V3i but to be honest I only ring a handful of people when I am on handsfree so not too hard to program tags but the 6680 is nowhere near as good as the 6310i was and I find myself having to say the tag 5 or 6 times.
Any advice would be useful as I am confused at the moment, thought about the N73 to avoide slide but again poorish battery life and not too keen on the looks.
hi guys ...
i have a little problem here when i charge the battery it doesnt tell me battery full or battery charged ... why ?? it fills the green battery at top-wright of the screen but the charger mark still on ..
is everything ok with my battery ??
by the way K 800 is the best moobile phone av ever used
I think, its easier pulling it out by putting pressure on the SE logo area rather than the area where we think the lock is located. ( right below the lens cover.
Hello Joni =)
Hello BOng =)
yeah i figured that its normal with the M2.
anyways, I wont bother myself about that. thanks!
I have 1 question for you guys though...
are you having a hard time opening the battery cover? i really cant open it and its so hard. My finger needs to be sticky to open it. I even have to use a rubber or like rubber gloves or rubber thing to put in my thumb so it wont slip so i can open it.
any techniques you guys have on opening it?
Owen, thanks for clearing up some of the K800 bugs. About the memory loss on your M2, it's totally normal for any memory stick. My 1gb M2 losses 100mb of space (1000mb->900mb), that's double the loss for double the total amount of space. Even a 20gb iPod only has 18.5gb of actual space.
Just continue. Its fine. the slot is like those in 6630s of nokias. it wont break. just Hold your fone with screen facing you.just use your finger nails. on the small slot, pull it out ensuring force is applied from the bottom of the M2 lock cover because the lies right on top of it. hope i have described it properly. May i know where is your handset made? mine is made in CHINA? its found inside the battery slot. thanks.
honestly i dont know how to open the M2 slot. i doubt its a slide but when you try to like pull it out im scared that i might break it...do i continue>?
Hi, i have the k800 and k750, i,d like to know if on the k800 i can open the light like the k750 can and how come when i take a video, the k750 has better resolution and quality than the k800 which is not that clear compare to the picture camera. How do i make the video better?
The phone comes with about 70mb of internal memory. Thats enough for 100+ photos on the highest quality setting. This is pretty good but if you want Mp3s then you will need to get an M2 card. The screen is AMAZING. Bright, and clear. Good battery life about 4 days with average use.
Hi to everyone.
I got mine just an hour ago. Does anyone know what exactly is the diference with other manufacturer becoz mine is made in CHINA. And it is really cheaper by more or less a hundred dollar.
I didn't find the sound quality of either the N73 or the K800 particularly great. I think the 73 wins out on the headphones. For what it is worth, the SE810 has the best sound in my opinion but then it does have megabass and in ear headset but it is a bit small and the screen is also a bit too small.
Think I'll be sending the N73 back and leave it alone for a month or so and just continue with my Nokia3650! Three years now and just can't give it up!!
SE must make a phone with front cover like K610i, back cover like K750i, with camera like K800i, music ability like W950i and battery life like W800i => superb SE phone.
Joystick is way better then on k750. SE improved this feature. I have no problem with joystick on my k800i at all.
message for Owen,
I've had two M2 memory sticks and they both have got around 460mb so i think that may be the norm!! I also had 70mb of internal memory (o2 phone) but my friend who's got the same phone on vodafone has only got 46mb.
Also....has anyone recieved a text from vodafone saying that you can no longer use your inclusive text allowance for sending pic/video messages from 1st september? 2 of my mates have and are not pleased having only just taken out their contracts 3 weeks ago. Vodafone say they will now be charged as extra's on your bill.
hey guys..i just want to know..does this phone's message alert only can last for 8-10 seconds?coz i'm a bit curious about SE phones..the message alert doesnt last longer like Nokia's..you guys know what i mean?
Sorry this is message for BIREN not SHAKZZZ
Hi BIREN the problem with your handset is software corrupted as I had the same problem when I took out the contract with o2 on the same day when you press the powerbutton the irda light flash twice as it got the power supply same as computer so I am affraid its gone and its not the battery as its the phone as we try the battery in the store that battery worked fine with the other k800i hope that answer your question?
