M@T2...

SE's announcement without SE's signature. It was cheap, wasn't it? Anyway, as a great fan & former owner of SE phones, let me bring out my concernment once again Re: new SE models' SAR values. They might meet the EU SAR requirements, but please read this: http://www.tcodevelopment.com/
TCO declares 0,8 W/kg. How's that?
When SE decrease SAR values under 0,8 W/kg, I'll be more than glad to be it's faithful customer again.

Until then,

Best regards.

There is absolutely no harm with radiations. Sony Ericsson understands its responsibility towards the health of its customers thats why from the beginning it has been including SAR information with retail pack plus on internet at every dedicated site of its each product. Kindly do not pay attention to such kind of baseless facts and rumours. All SONY products duly follow the FCC Stds. Your Sony Ericsson product is FULLY SAFE to use. For any further assistance, kindly contact Sony Ericsson customer care centre of your country. Thank You.

Hey, Bart,

I've been trying to draw attention to potential SE customers for a while on how dangerous some of the new models (K770i, K810i, T650i..) might be with respect to SAR radiation, but those... persons are just interested in "how loud the speaker are?" and "can it store 100 000 000 messages?", so take my advice and don't bother anymore. If they're willing to fry themselves, so be it.

Regards.

i have this k810i 3 months ago.so far there's no big problem im encountering.but while ago,im browsing some pix @ the camera album,it suddenly restarted.is it ok to upgrade the firmware once a month?im using SEUS.they tell me that i need to upgrade so it will be less vulnerable for errors.all in all,for me,the performance of this cellphone is better.

About SAR, i have this phone for two weeks already,so i dont have any reason of being smart about this, i want to tell you that everything above 1 w/kg SAR is NOT good, the maximum allowed by the FCC is 1.6 and there are TWO scales of measurment, one is the radiation of the head and the second is the radiation of the body, they want to say if you wear handsfree and the phone is in other place is better for the head.
The radiation of this phone by the SE and the FCC is named HARD,the normal is below 1 w/kg and the low is under 0,6 w/kg and you can find great phones in all three categories, let me name some of them Samsung U600 with 0,48 W/kg and the Nokia N95 with 0,58 W/kg are the representatives of the LOW SAR category, the LG Prada with 0,84 W/kg and the Nokia N80 with 0,68 W/kg are in the middle or the normal category, and many others are in the HARD radiation category. So if you have unlimited calls included in your contract better think twice which phone you are going to buy.

ok I have since done some reading about SAR values. How bad is 1.31 really? I read that internationally, anything below 2 is safe. How true is this? I'm getting put off the K810 now... I wonder if the K850 with 1.14 is more acceptable? I just want a phone that isn't too chunky, and that has a better bettery life than my Nokia E65! Why do so many phones have such shit batteries!

My previous phone was K700i.When I bought the new K810i & I copied all the phone address book from K700i to K810i. It was great because all my contact, personal ring tone for caller & photos included. But later I found out that the personal ring tone doesn't work properly. It rang on default call ring tone instead of my personal set ring tone on a caller. I sent it to Sony Ericsson service center for checking & they said the problem caused by the memory card. They reset the memory card & the phone set contents. I copied it from my K700i again & tested it. Found same problem occurred. So, I tried re-program it one by one & it working fine.
After 5 months using the phone I recently notice that the personal caller ring tone doesn't function properly sometimes again.
The video call must use a headset due to a soft speaker sound (even set to max). Video call works properly at room/office condition but not at outdoors. Just to share some experiences. Anyway, the phone features & design were great. Camera feature great but not the videos. Thank you.
:)

nEUrosceptic: what is this w/kg SAR talk? I have no idea what you mean. Are you just talking about the weight? And brain toasters? what?

Well, this phone is a disgrace for SE. 1,31 W/kg SAR value might not be to much for a nuclear power plant, but for a cellphone... And that's not where story ends: K 530 - 1,17 W/kg, K 770 - 1,69 W/kg, T 650 - 1,80 W/kg!!!!! I mean, HEY, do you want to take that risk? I won't. Will stick to good, old K 800i (0,58 W/kg).
My children, may the force be with all of you who decide to buy some of the latest SE brain toasters.

I had a k750 before I got myself this one. K810 is a great phone, pretty much the same features as a K800, but I like the design better, so I got this one and not the K800.

@ Edwin

This phone is really great... I used to have W880 now gave it to my wife... My SE K810 came with 512mb but i change it to a 2gb one. And bought the same model HPM70 that came with W810, W880, etc.. The sound is just WOW...
Only the software is not as elaborated as in W880 it's like the one with W800 but the sound is fabulous even when playing radio... This K810 is god send... SE rocks...
