K810i is phone for chicks, because of it's design; K800i is the phone for men!
@Paul the reason it is not possible is because the k550 uses LED lights while the k810 uses Xenon. Xenons use too much power to be used constantly and i believe the one on your phone is set to burn hot so if left on it will overheat. But lucky for us there has a program to manually turn on the orange focus light to use as a torch. No worries it's actually brighter than many other white LED lights on other cameras (i have compared). the program is located here. just download and install!http://torchk800.matlista.se
I bought a k810i from h.k. and cannot use the
internet browser in Toronto ont.Rogers is my provider. I use $10 dollar auto pay-and -talk
I've had this phone for a while now... I think it's very good and everything.. but the only thing I can't figure out (because it's not possible on this phone since there is no such option) is to turn the flash light/ light used for the camera on and keeping it on in case it's dark and you want 2 see the object or just use it as a flash light. If any one knows how if that's possible (like I said I've tried) please let me know. I know for sure that the K550 has that option and it's possible on that phone. How come it's not on this one ?
i have had this phone for about a month or maybe a bit less, and all i have to say is that it is pure perfection,
the camera is outstanding,
it comes with everything needed including headset and usb for computer,
honestly if ur looking for a stylish yet amazingly sufficient phone, this is it.
@Jeebus the reason why you have to have the headset plugged in to use the radio is because your headphone double as the FM attenna. without it your radio would get no reception...hence why they need to be plugged in even if youre using the speakerphone
@Jer - To turn off the orange light, you can turn off Auto Focus. The orange light is used by the camera to determine how far away an object is by reflection (kinda like how bats navigate, but with light)
@1-s3vn - As long as you're on Rogers or Fido, it'll work since they use SIM card phones. It will not work with Telus or Bell, as they do not use SIM card phones.
@kDjJ - Yes, I just tested, and you do require the headset to use the radio. Although a headset comes with the phone in the box, you can play the radio through the loud speaker after you start it up. Weird.
Well, I've had the phone for a couple days now, and I've gotta say I'm impressed.
Reception is great. My old phone (Samsung A640 on Bell Wireless) would hardly get any reception in the basement of my work, but with this phone (On the Rogers Wireless network), I get perfect reception. Rogers is apparently upgrading their network right now (fall season) to a 3G network here in Vancouver, which can only mean that reception and data speeds will get better and faster in the upcoming months.
The keypad is quite small and squished together, but as others have said, I've gotten used to it. My texting speed is a little bit slower with this keypad, but I don't mind.
It might be my switch from a not-so-great phone to a new gen phone, but the screen is so much brighter, vivid in colours, and sharper. I love it.
The menu system is easy once you learn it, and the shortcuts are customizable, which is great.
When I purchaced this phone, I also bought the H-70 headset (I think that's the model), and tested the sound quality for my MP3s. Although the sound lacked in treble and I had to change the equalizer to my liking, I'm sure it was the earbuds that came with the headset, and I'll be purchasing higher quality earbuds to use with my headset since I can interchange it (great feature). I tried using the earbuds on my iPod with the same sound quality, crap ass treble.
SAR ratings are as follows: Head 0.61 W/kg; Body 0.42 W/kg; Data 0.77 W/kg
YES it will work in Toronto, ON
yeh lol but u cant compare reception in bars u need to find out the dBa or sumthing of it because 1 bar probably represents different signal in two phones
does this phone need the headset to listen to radio because i have the k790 and it wont use the raqdio unless i use the headset which acts as an antenna.
i recently bought this phone as im accustom to having motorola flip phones.i was a bit skeptic at first but now the k810i phone is the most fantastic phone ive ever owned and believe me they were alot.u must own to experience the quality of this phone.
hi my brother has this set and he shown me the way to do this thing
how to turn off the red light..
just turn off auto while taking pics as red light is focussing light and in penality for turning it off u may get blurry pics if u dont have very steady hands..
To k810i users,
Does anyone know what site can I upgrade the software of my k810i? I would really appreciate it if you could specify the link. Thanks.
If you have AT&T dont worry. I used to use a Motorola SLVR which is a quad band phone with both 850 and 1900mhz. and my k810 gets WAY better reception. although i have only been able to test it in metro areas. i would assume that it would be worse in rural areas as that is where at&t primarily uses their 850 band. but assumtions are nothing as i used to assume verizon had better reception that at&t period. everywhere i went my verizon phone always beat out my slvr(i have 2 phones). but my k810 actually has better reception 50% of the time! its incredible!!!
