cos its got a gorgeous screen (thanks HTC :D), it has a standard jack (id expect nothing less tbh), its got windows mobile (thanks bill gates), its got a qwerty keyboard, flash lite and all that.
oh yeah thanks se for...um...the panels...:S
basically its a really nice phone right, and
its by far the best thing they've done.
i dont think phones such as the k850 or the w960 are as good as phones such as the n73 anyway.
i rate nokia, but tbh i wud like a touchscreen for once and a vga screen
im gna get an xpria as soon as it comes out.
its gna be expensive but meh, parents will fork out.
and the k850 is the least thought out phone ever, the flash goes off after the photos been taking.
the photos are all dull.
every photo would be like standing in a graveyard. you certainly couldnt use them as desktop backgrounds
did u buy dis fone or u STILL DECIDING?
@ Sniper Supra
can u plz gimme d link 1 dnld d pdf reader for k850i? thnx mate.
Nokia N82/ N95
are nowere close to K850i in terms of Camera.
K850i is a thought through phone!
2 days (full 48 hours) moderate use - MP3 whenever outdoor, mormal cam, normal vids taken, normal internet session,200 sms, 3 phone calls 10 mins. each
1 day (full 24+ hours) outdoor use - heavy speaker with video, full cam use with video, mp3 with speaker loud, heavy sms and 10 phone calls 5 mins each.
1 day (sun up to sun down) phone torture - call all the time, video call all the time, hsdpa when no call, extra long video clips, extra quantity of pictures taken.
I own one. ^_^ I'm a heavy user some of the time.
hi guys, how long your battery will last with the latest firmware R1EA037?
@khalil Also, What do you mean by a Theme? And what are apps? Thanx eddie
@khalil, Do you think the c902 will fix all the k850i probs? And should I wait for c902? Thanx eddie
hei its a nice mobi, having many salient features it is the only mobile which versus N95, buy SE and rocks the world....
oh yeah and i post these arguments incase somebody comes on here choosing between handsets.
i dont want them to be fooled by this cybershot rubbish. it means nothing.
actually i think the because it has a qvga screen, it should only do qvga recording is silly because:
if the k850 was a real cameraphone, it would take photos you can properly see on a computer (and in some ways it does this)
but if you put the video on the computer, it would just be useless quite frankly.
i know the videos would look identical on qvga screens but imagine if real digital cameras took this approach? in a real digi camera, you put the vids on the computer, you dont leave them on the device.
so quite frankly, i think the n95 on the camera front if the real all rounder, but the n82 really is the king.
quite frankly, there isnt a camera that comes close to the n82 one
Well it depends. If you load up the 4GB memory card with mp3s and videos the phone will never slow down (and i doubt it will with an 8GB card too). The reason for that is that those files will stay there and will not load unless upon request. Logically speaking, if and mp3 is there and ur not playing it, why would the phone slow down? On the other hand, if you load applications and games, yes the phone would definitely slow down even with a 2GB memory card as the K850 does not have sufficient RAM to handle too many applications. The reason for that is that the K850 i think is the first attempt to merge java and flash as in it will load up apps in ram and they can run automatically like in symbian (this does not happen with K850 but i think they are testing it little by little). This is the main reason why you can load up a K800 with apps and games and it will not show any difficulty while the opposite is true for K850. All this said, i owned a K850 with a 4GB card and it ran beautifully when loaded with mp3s and videos and pics. The moment i tried installing too many stuff it went haywire. Then i just kept the games and apps i liked the most and uninstalled the rest and i was fine.
Also do not under any circumstances install a theme on the memory card and use it, the phone WILL slow down and restart. Stay safe and keep them on the Phone memory as with the games and apps they will run smoother on the phone memory (keep at least 8MB free in the phone memory too).
Hope this helped!
Listen nick i saw some of your posts on the W960 forum and at times you sounded very logical. I am also a logical person just listen to this. OK i admit the N95 takes AMAZING videos my dad has one and the video recording is breathtaking for a mobile phone!! YES IT IS NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS! The reason SE keep the QVGA video recording is they reckon that since the screen is QVGA res then the videos would look the same no matter what resolution the video is taken in (nokia solve that by adding video out). But when you put a movie on the phone and watch it, whats the point of watching a VGA movie on a QVGA screen?? It would look exactly the same even on the N95 (qvga screen) but would take up 4 times more space!!! So yes the video recording hands down to Nokia but the actual viewing of VGA vids is utterly useless AND since SE are gonna incorporate VGA screens and WVGA screens (X1 confirmed P5 i really suspect it will have a VGA screen) they will use VGA video recording and even you have to admit that if the P5 comes with a VGA screen it will murder the upcoming N96.
About image quality, it all comes down to personal preference an lets just keep it at that. Enough bickering. Enough warmongering.
Blah..if you are saying that the N95 is a wayyyyy better phone, then everyone should pick that over K850? is that what you are trying to say? The thing is...not everyone is rich enough compared to you or some other filthy rich guy. Seriously, i am planning to buy N95 before and when i checked my budget, i found that N95 is way being too overprice...true, it come with all those usable accesories..the things is...you use all those things everyday? in your daily life? And you were saying battery life improved in V2.1? nokia is invented those now (2007-2008), while SE battery life have been proven since 2004-2005. I have N73 and K790 before and i tested during occasional messaging, camera, and viewing the result, and guess what...N73 is only lasting for 2 days while K790 is lasting for good 6 days (tested from 100% till 0%), until i traded them both for K850, which suits me best...
If you are really very against this K850, then why you kept posting stating that N95 is better? and in the K850 opinion? Hello? you come to the wrong section, mate, and you are comparing a 2 different world of mobilephone, its like comparing a water with an oil...I am not too fond with all the research and detailed inspection of every mobile, but why don't you just accept that not everyone can have the same 'taste'? if you give an opinion, others may or may not agree, depending on their situation in trying which one is more favorable to them. They are the one who decide, not you...If they want opinion about N Series, fine, give them a good explanation, the end result is they are the one deciding...not only from the mobilephone itself they have to look, but from other things as well....
Having owned both of these phones I can honestly say each phne has its good points and each has its bad points.
I owned the K850 for about 3 months before I traded it in on an N95. The main things I did not like about the K850 were the annoying buttons: small and sharp, and the touch screen lag. I often found myself pressing the touch screen more than once because it did not seem to register my touch but then because of the lag it went off through several menus.
Also I found the xenon flash way too powerful or that it would go off after the shutter. All my night shots had a huge white flash in the top right corner, or were just completely black.
On the flip side, now that I am using the N95 8gb, there are still some issues with that phone too. Although where the K850 annoyed me, the N95 does not: ie buttons and camera.
Where it does fall down for me in comoparison is the operating system. I'm not a huge fan of Symbian, where you have to actually close down your applications manually most times. Also it has no light, or Track ID function, and the Nokia media player is much worse and less user friendly than the SE one.
So as you can see, no phone is perfect, and no phone will appease every person. You just have to get the phone that is right for you. So to Nick and anyone else who thinks whinging every two seconds will make them feel better about the phone they have, get a life and each to their own.
