I have just got the K850i on T-Mobile in the UK and it is awesome.Great photo quality and great to use.I did take it back to the shop as the icons on the right hand side of the keypad are not lit up but all 4 phones they had in store were the same so they are looking into that.Does anyone else here have that problem ?
I don't know where you are but;
TO ALL (& w0QN);
THE PRICE OF THE K850 IN CANADA IS FROM 570-630 CAD. This is through the HK supply. (PMall)
The MOBILE PHONE STORE
Digital Match PMall & FMP
THE PRICE OF THE K850 IN CANADA IS 799.99+tax CAD. This is through a collection of K850s from the UK supply. (Eaton Centre)
Both retailers are SonyEricsson certified suppliers, so you can trust them on sales. It's just that, when it comes down to knowing if the quality of the phone is good and the warranty of the phone will be completed when needed, the lower price is usually the sketchy-est, as in this case.
As well, the first few stores will disclose their current running price while the last store (Watch & Talk) will try to keep their competition (productivity) up and will NOT disclose their higher price.
stop saying bad things about sony ericsson's phone. no phone is perfect.... and this is one of the best along with n95
No screen is scratch proof. Resistant, yes. The best stuff i can recommend for scratch protection of any device is this: http://www.shieldzone.com/ It is tricky and takes some patience to install but it is the best thing I've used. I have it on my ipod and w810i and ppl cant tell its on unless you point it out. Allows ipod to still fit into any dock, doesn't blur screen at all on either device. plus it has a life-time warranty. It's this stuff or a sock style thingy. They haven't released one for the k850i yet, said to be a month away. In the k850i's case it would probably cut down greatly on smudges and finger prints. Won't affect touch keys either. Sound like i work for the company, i know.

>>>>..even though adjusting settings may still produce a slightly better image. If you check out Esato.com just look for threads of ppl posting pics taken with k850i. You have to register to view most pics. Especiallly check out the ones by plankgatan, he really takes some impressive pics.
With current software it is capable of supporting up to 32gb mem card. Why it cuts of at 32 dunno but that is what i've read. Currently the largest micro sd/m2 card available to the public is 8gb. Max mem card for micro sd is going up 2gb's every 3-4 months.
The phone is capable of amazing shots. I'd liken it to a 2-3mp standalone digital camera. Check out Esato.com and check some of the pics posted there by ppl who know how to play with settings. You have to register, but will greatly help your decision. As firmwares are released the camera settings will be refined just as they were with k800i. Meaning "auto" mode will produce finer shots w/o having to play with settings even thoguh adjusting settings.
I found the UI to be very easy to adjust to.
I guess some ppl have very thick fingers because the keypad is not a problem at all for me. Touch sensitive keys work flawlessly for me. Just have to push right where the lil' white hash marks are. Not on the screen, but on the edge.
K850i is available in the Philippines
since three weeks ago.
in fact i already ordered mine
from Baguio City
and i will be receiving it on the 16th
when my friend will arrive...
i'm in Toronto where K850i is priced CAD$724.00
compared to it's price in the Philippines
which is about CAD$510.00
I just got this phone as a part of my upgrade with my carrier. I am a dedicated SE fan and loved the W850i, and was undecided between the w910 and the K850 - worst decision I ever made with the K850. Sure, the camera quality is really good, but I have a Sony 6MP camera so I'm not using the camera that often anyway. The keypad, buttons and touch scren keys at the top are a disaster, the phone is bulky and the user interface is a lot more difficult to use in that you have to go into several different menu's to get to what you want (case in point - getting to your music, which I do a fair bit). I'm really disappointed with this phone, I'm trying to see if I can take it back and exchange it for a w910, which ok doesn't have the flash camera but I've had a play with a friend of mine's and it is heaps better.
F*** the Reviews ..there all Biast..and go on Nokias side..when Nokia is the bad performer...
the Truth was K850i BEAT N95..in the camera same will happen with the upcoming N82 haha
K850i HAS THE BEST 5MP ever!!!!!
Just dont Diss this phone
I was reading a lot of reviews, most were negative about it's camera. I would love to own one. But, can someone please tell me how to obtain a good picture before i make a final choice.
This phone is BETTER then the N82.
THIS PHONE SUPPORTS TRI-BAND HSDPA SO IT IS NORTH AMERICA FRIENDLY!
What happened Nokia? You can't keep your phones looking under 2cm, and now even though it was included in the N95, you guys opted out on the HSDPA multi-availability on the N82?
You've just lost a few dozen million customers that were eager for your phone. Now they will either turn to the thick, slow, vulnerable to freeze N95 OR the faster at taking pictures and quality rocking K850.
Nokia just keeps digging themselves into a deeper hole.
hi could any one tell me what the max size memory card is i can use in the k850i. also which is best to use M2 or Micro SD. thanks
why do ppl call sony ericsson phones toy ? ?even of they feel like toy whats wrong with that? do u like phones that doent fit in ur pocket ? or that makes a hole and will fall off ur pocket since they are as heavy as ur ass ?i like light weight phones.btw i would rather carry a toy instead of a stone
@quote: So because of the terrible and so slow services of Sony Ericsson, customers will do same as me.
agreed ... i don't like it either ...
i'd rather choose n95 which camera's also 5mp .. PLUS having whole bunch feature than k850
It was since October that this phone has been released and here in the Philippines, its not yet released until now. So on the other hand, N95 8GB came this Monday, so I already forgot about this K850i (Which I have been waiting for since June) and replaced it with N95 8GB (I don't have it yet, will buy it this Sunday:D)

lol @ "coolie boy" yuh sound rel trini dey boi wit dah name!! lolz.. well hmmm now you have me going over to the K850i once again, but i will have to wait and see when the W960i comes out to know if it has that protective thingy! Hmmmmm vishal well you said the W960i and i kinda think i like tat phone too cuz its design is better and it has alot more features than the K850i like the wifi and look of it is just better! only if the W960 had a 5megapixel cam, life would be easier! but i am awaiting the release of the phone, b.t.w does anyone know when i can get this phone?
