Finally arrived in shops today, didn't feel good. I had been looking forward to this phone but it felt too big, yet the buttons are so small! Why? Also felt very plastic compared to my old solid K750 and I can't understand the lack of a proper camera cover. The glass cover will always be covered in fingerprints. The K770 is also very poor, terrible buttons and design. SE need to get back to phones like the k750 which was near perfect for its time
actually carphone warehouse had 500 in green and 1000 in blue.
released on friday and today only had 4 in stock overall
What's all this about a motion sensor in the Specs?! Anyone know of this?
I really hate getting on the K850 / N95 bandwagon but, being a SE fan, I have to say that I am disappointed by SE's approach to the phone market, lately. They've been releasing pretty much middle-class phones that differ only in look and/or badging. Some will say "But Nokia does the same". Well, true, but Nokia has a much broader product portfolio right now. They are not desperate for new, innovative products. Unfortunately, SE is. The guys at SE are selling us the K850 as a high end phone when, in fact, it is pretty much a middle-class phone with a powerful camera, at least when you put it up against the N95. If money was no object, I'd go with the N95 because it is a much more "complete" phone that packs pretty much every feature that you could possibly want while still equaling the K850's 5 megapixel camera output. Aditionally, it has better video recording abilities.
My message : SE, wake up and give us something special and innovative, because I'd really hate to switch back to Nokia!
from looking at the shootout with the N95, it has adv and dis-adv over the nokia. But it was a beta K850 so the proper phone can't be worse. also, what is the difference between the k850 and k850i? i ordered the k850i off ebay from singapore for a total of £320, $650
it is currently flying FEDEX over the middle east:) hehe
i'll post a review on wed/thur
GPS Mobile Phones: the Next Gold Mine?
SonyEricsson will have to ajust!
Motorola purchases half of Sony Ericsson UIQ!!! LOL
Mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson is selling half of its smartphone software unit UIQ to U.S. rival Motorola, Sony Ericsson's president, Miles Flint, told reporters in London on Monday."
the k850 rox and is half of my life!!!
im looking forward to get it!!!
the camera is almost like my cybershot camera!!!
Sorry but i want to know how much is it & does it realy have more superirority than
k800 except it's camera?
I just got my k850, cost me 700 to have it shipped here. There are alot of false reviews here. I agree that most of the bad rap is coming from the nokia gang. The last hurahh to stop this phone. The photos are outstanding. My friend has the n95 he did admit in the end my phone takes better photos. If you are interested in a fantastic pocket sized phone that has more features, and the best camara on the market in a phone the k850 is tops. Dont believe the nokia tree huggers its nuts that people are such brand wackos. I had a blackberry before this phone. Yes I try other brands oooohhh. So you can believe this review is unbiased.
as expected Nokia launch the N95 8 GB a week after World release of K850!
Clearly a counter stroke against Sony's K850 release.
After all the die hard Fans took up the K850! THe mainstream buyers will have to take a second look at the bang for the bug value of the K850 and the N95!
for that, K850 isn't looking good!
This phone is soo cool! got mine today.. started playing with it. The keypad is easy to use, so is the navigation. Maybe it's cuz i have skinny fingers.. Only thing is that the 3 touch sensitive softkeys makes you put your fingerprints all over the bottom of the lcd.. apart from that.. an overall excellent phone.. keeping in mind that it's still a phone.. with an integrated 5MP camera, and not the other way around..
Just an update on my k850, as you know i thought the camera was rubbish but the more it went on the more i thought my handset was dodgy and lo and behold my handset is indeed goosed.
took it to the o2 shop today and compared my phone with the one the manageress had and you wouldn't believe the difference.
her camera is crystal clear whereas mine has a dark yellow tinge to it her lcd is bright and mine is pretty dull even at 100%.
i was begining to think i was mad. so once my new handset arrives i will have another go and hopefully the camera will be up to scratch this time.
DONT you realize that the K850 is not, and wont be a great phone! Nokia fan boys don't care about this mistake from SE. Its real people who bought the phone and are dissatisfied with the camera quality.
Face the truth! Its not as good as expected. The K850 will be a good phone when selling at 350USD.
