this phone is available to order through O2 now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
& even worse popular electronics have the K850 at $899
This K850 is $760US LOL....ahhaahhahaha WAY to expensive...
if you think i will buy a cell phone with no features for $760...Same price as N95 8GB...
Maximum price for the K850 is $450-500, if more, RIP-OFF!
The GPS (HGE-100) is working with satellite (free), no internet connection is needed!
It depends on the software, N95 does, because Nokia, unlike Ericsson creates soft that can only be used for commercial use and profit, thats why they have the best profit and this is how they plant to keep it, by creating new needs for the ppl and make them pay for it.
But eventually, "free", software solutions, will appear, esp at SE, they always put their clients interests first, even if they have to pay for that interest...
Most likely the soft SE's gps requires, will be included in the accessories packet and u could use the small (512MB)memory stick, that is included in the packet, for the maps and the big one (1-16GB) for music video etc
Yeah, if you're ready to pay 760 dollars.........
Is this GPS device working by the internet or not?
hi guys im with vodafone and i get my k850i on 27th oct 2007 with them
Is the new GPS device HGE-100 as 3D graphical interface or its only text and voice???
Can we zoom the map??
I really hope SE didn't make another mistake with this new device...
The GPS is not free, you have to buy a separate device: HGE 100, its about $80 + shipping. Go check:

4Bbn-
Atleast, it's MUCH MUCH cheaper to buy the external add on, becuase $70 is usually how much an SE in-ear headset is, and I'm guessing it's another $40 for the GPS then within the headset.
EVERYONE-
YES, THERE IS A GPS HEADSET. THE GPS IS WITHIN THE REMOTE CONTROL.
2S{Q (satya)-
So then what is your reason for answering so soon after you were mentioned, if you were away for a while?

Why use WiFi then? You can send smaller stuff faster on 3G! Who'd want to use something that's much slower when something much faster is more convienient. Also, you don't have to deal with the hassle to wait to connect and get approved by the router to start surfing.
And yes, there are maps everywhere, unlike where you live. It appears to be that you won't ask people for directions either? I mean, things aren't hard to find, and if you can't remember your way by looking at a map from home, or even bringing one along with you, either paper, or an image on your phone, then I see that you are bent over for the N95. Because with that phone, you'll be lead up to a mile away from where you're suppose to be. You must also not know much about GPS, because you don't know the stories where Texans and British people drive into walls, into trees (and I mean, into, not just hitting, but into) and such. I don't know why everyone is so bent over for GPS, I mean, remember your way if you're going to be there again. It's really absurd.
Sure, call it a 'path analysis', but really, you're just reading a map. Why don't you just upload an image of where you're going, and it's immediate area. Every road has a name.
You don't need a computer to tell you if there's an alternative route, you can just see it. I mean, you're not stupid. But prove me wrong if you want.
Now, I'm not an SE die hard fan, I mean, I LOVE the RAZR MaxxV6 over the W850.
And I haven't been hiding them. I've been mentioning the flaws with the K850, wherever they need to be pointed out when I'm comparing the N95 and K850.
But to make a sore kid happy, here's what you're looking for;
-K850 might not have as bright of a screen as N95, because of the lack of colors in the LCD
-K850 does not have dedicated music buttons, nor does it have a proper D-pad
-K850 only has one port to do things which can only be supported up to two accessories (stacking) unlike how the N95 has a TV-Out port, 3.5mm port, Infrared, MicroUSB.
-K850 does not have internal memory
-K850 might not have as big of a sensor as the N95, so taking pictures of text at a close range may be better with the N95
-K850 does not have GPS within the device
-K850 does not run on Symbian, nor does it have WiFi
-K850 does not record in the 'DVD' quality that the N95 does
-K850 does not auto brighten and enhance photos for better viewing quality after the picture has been taken
-K850 maybe does not have as loud speakers as the N95
-K850 does not have dedicated menu & select/back buttons
-K850 does not have as big of a screen as the N95
-K850 lacks the professional Carl-zeiss lens that the N95 has
Now, on the upside
-K850 has a D-Pad integrated into the number pad
-K850 has 3 touchsensitive menu & selection buttons
-K850 has 3 LED flash lights upon the Xenon
-K850 has hotswap
-K850 has a lens cover
-K850 does not slide
-K850 has one port to do everything
-K850 has a wire you can buy for GPS & TV-Out, and still remains cheaper then the N95
-K850 has BestShot technology
-K850 has face detection (auto focus upon face) technology
-K850 has picture editors
-K850 has a new media player
-K850 can support both M2 and MicroSD up to 8GB, and perhaps, if modded or not, up to a theoretical 16GB
-K850 has an accellerometer for games and menu orientation
-K850 has a candybar form, which is more durable
-K850 has a professional lens that is from it's own manufacturer, SONY
-K850 is much less wider in both widths
-K850 runs a Java UI
On the downside of the K850 VS various other phones that may've had tribute within this phone;
-K850 does not have the Walkman software
-K850 does not have the Music Shaker controls
-K850 does not have a touchsensitive screen
-K850 does not have a manual lens cover
Happy? Now everyone knows what's better about the K850, and the N95 when compared.
btw, anyone who might bring up the N81 here is kind of stupid. With such a small form, and a thinner upper slide then the N95, that phone is sure bound for massive damage, as well it's an accellerometer phone, so it might fly. Maybe Nokia should take after Nintendo and get straps for that phone.
Thanks guys! I knew 98% of the phones don't have GPS, this is an external device.
But nevertheless very practical and cool. I understand you need an internet connection for this?
Try ebay is cheaper to buy the GPS enabler:

The GPS is not free, you have to buy a separate device: HGE 100, its about $115. Go check:
