My knowledge isnt too good on how to root but there are many custom roms that are better than sonys stock. Underclocking will increase batterylife but some apps might not run as smoothly.

Ive had build .587 for 2days now and its not working well. My phone had lag on last build and now its got super lag. Hate Sony updates. Using old class 4 8gb sd now as my class 10 16gb didnt work well. :-(
Lol! Depends what build you are using. My best standby time around 36hours(1 and a half days). Heavy gaming kills battery in just 3hours and continuos web browsing 5-6 hours. 3days is rubbish. 2 maybe 2and a half days possible with everything off like browsing and brightness v low.
mike wazowzki, 26 Apr 2013i'm still using it and happy, i have no problem in this smartphone for almost one year now, ba... moredont lie pls.i have to charge it 3 times a day for continuous internet.poor battery ever !!!!
the best i've experienced in this smartphone, it has a kick-ass loud stereo speakers, try install jetaudio player and experience the surround sound! this phone sounds way way better than my altec lansing built-in laptop speakers..
i'm still using it and happy, i have no problem in this smartphone for almost one year now, battery works fine for me, 2 days internet and heavy texting, normal use lasts for three days, if you want to extend the battery life, always turn off wi-fi when not in use, and avoid lots of widgets or animations, put your brightness 50% the ambient sensor will automatically adjust it, install battery saver,
luv, everything about this fone....except battery life.....i have to charge thrice a day as i do little gaming and internet for whatspp etc,.....if i wud do more gaming the battery would have been more worser...
pls any1 help me ...or is there a big n better battery that wud fit in my lww n that has no drawbacks..
Finally got .587 build. Will see how this works as last build was bad. Im after a new phone but will always keep lww especially as its so rare in uk.
great phone i will use it till it expired because only sonyericsson can manufacture a phone like lww
james79, 25 Apr 2013I might be gettin my Lww rooted today. What tweaks have you done? Why do some people unlock th... moreUnlocking the bootloader is used to flash custom kernels, which can give you better performance, network strength and stability and sometimes better battery life and overcloking and undervolting, with the bootloader unlock disallowed it is impossible to overclock, after rooting get cm by xparts from the play store and try the zellycream mdpi rom ( forum,xda-developers.com) or Xnxt ( forum.xda-developers.com) they are both very rich in features with a far better performance and a lot of xperia z goodies. they also have many init.d tweaks and supercharging and network tweaks and build.prop tweaks. tell me to give you v2.5 of zellycream if there is bugs with v3 of mdpi, backup all your stuff before any flashing and follow all the instructions, you won't get as good experience as with a custom kernel like lupus 5 mdpi, though it will be far better than stock ics
