jc, 05 Oct 2008Hello everyone.. i was just wondering whether this fone can be compared to an iphone or others... morehi, it's more of a business phone. 5mpx camera is pretty good, but keyboard (left/right toggle on a pseudo-qwerty) takes a lot of getting used to. if you're after multimedia and lots of SMS or e-mail texting, I advise against it (have used it in business >1 yr).
hi guy! i love dis fon but i'm not sure if it can edit doc?n how much is it?
cool.......=)
hi guys
can u tell me where to download free softwares for P1i
thanks
sorry to spoil the party guys, SonyEricsson is throwing in the towel on UIQ platform. Just got the news on Yahoo! Finance. You can search this via the ERIC stock quote.
Looks like they are cutting 2000 jobs and mostly linked to its UIQ R&D in Ronneby, Sweden. They are set to enhance only mid range phones in Cybershot and Walkman ranges. They are set to join a Symbian Foundation created by Nokia for open source Symbian Code meaning u might see S60 phones and probably more WinMobile (if X1 becomes a success).
Did always like the UIQ platform but it seems the winner is S60 and Nokia. Good for Samsung to have already started the journey in S60!
Sorry guys, for those planning to buy P1i, W960 and G900/G700, I'd seriously re-consider this in view of the lack of further development and enhancements on this product line. Just thought I should share this!

jc, 05 Oct 2008Hello everyone.. i was just wondering whether this fone can be compared to an iphone or others... moreIt sure can. I've used the first gen iPhone (4GB) and currently own a P1i. The iPhone's UI is much faster and is more usable overall. However, the application base for Symbian/UIQ devices is bigger (at the moment) and the P1i has some features (such as video recording, 3MP camera which actually works compared to the crap 2MP in the iPhone/iPhone3G and a usable keyboard). Try using the on-screen keyboard in the iPhone and you will know what I mean. The P1i is a lot cheaper as well, at least compared to the 2nd gen. iPhone.
Thanks a lot guys, will look into E71 and test it out when I got the chance. Appreciated!!
Ive had the P1i for 6 months and brilliant as a business phone. Connects to my Bluetooth Parrot in car hands free easily. It is clear in the car. The camera takes awesome photos as it is. The battery life for a business phone is very good. Always was a Nokia fan, but changed to SE and very happpy. Not sure what i would buy when nedd arises. Any suggestions??? Thanks
Hi, anyone knows whether the photo light can be "turned on" permanently as a torch? thanks.

pxd - you can have a look at the Nokia E71. it makes for a decent buisness phone too.
Do we have a call recording software for P1i?
Anyone can suggest an equivalent phone similar to P1 from Nokia? Or SE itself? P1 is the cheapest I can find with all business features, but not knowing what other options there might be, besides N95 (maybe?). I am having issue with P1's non-changeable back-light dimming, it only last longest at 30secs, any idea to set it longer than that? 1min maybe? Thanks a appreciated.

Anonymous, 04 Oct 2008could the p1i play mp4 applications? and those it have video dj on it? plannin to buy it on mo... morelol dude, N80? Are you seriously comparing that old dinosaur with it's modern counterparts? The N80 was a good phone when it first came out 4 years ago.. things have changed drastically since then. I highly doubt if ANY of the current bunch of applications would even install on that old hippo.
N95 vs P1i is a close call. I personally prefer the black exterior and 2.8" screen of the N95-8GB compared to the original. However, if money is the primary criteria, I would definitely buy the P1i which is pretty cheap at $300 brand new. The N95-8GB is still well above the $450 mark if I remember correctly. Otherwise, you might wanna wait for the N85 which is a smaller but more capable version of the N95. N85 should launch at approx. $450 very soon.
could the p1i play mp4 applications? and those it have video dj on it? plannin to buy it on monday... and i can't decide if i should buy this phone or the N95/N80...

Download the SEUS tool and check if there is a firmware update available.
You can download A LOT of stuff on the P1i man.. mp3s, videos, PDFs, word/excel/ppt sheets etc. I suggest you sit with the phone for a few hours rather than post here.
