This phone is useless to much hanging for my taste and it has a very slow processor, it takes a long time to do simple things.
Been using this SE P1i for 1 month, and was very dissappointed with its phone speeds and touch screen.
For touch screen, it is still not mature enuff for people to have touch screen phone from SE yet. From what I experience, I can only write one letter at one moment... and sometime it lagging or sometime it cannot recognize. It seems like you have to write it like a kindergarten student only it can recognize one by one. Very tire to have such kind of experience when SMS.
Beside, its' keypad is also a very dissappointed where I found very hard for people to type it using hand. Furthermore, it hang when we open WRITE MESSAGE. I cannot imagine if my M2 is full and how it become...
Dissappointed very much.
MJ, 08 Aug 2008My P1i is less than a month old. It occassionally hangs up and I have to restart it. Is this normal? It's not normal.
Try to update the firmware using SE's software update. Or you can take it back to your phone dealer, if it's under contract, to see if they'll flash the phone for you.
Remember to backup your data first.

You can open and view pdf, excel and word docs no problem and is great for web browsing. Due for an upgrade but the only SE phone that is any better than this is going to be the Xperia. Hurry up Sony and launch the Xperia!
yes it supports blackberry..watching 3 movies in one full bar..stil has 5-10% of battery left..tested and proven..and btw sounds is pretty good especially when you MOD in the walkman 3.0 and the soundMod..
Hi how is the music quality on the P1,because i have a P990I and the music player sound is very low
w810i MUSIC EARPHONE is suitable for P1i. i am also trying to master using my fingers instead of a stylus.
Hello Friends... I have been watching P1i posts for long time and complaining for standard Audio jack... Use brain... Go to SE store buy an Music Phone 3.5mm jack which comes along with w810i and other music phones... which sticks to the usb/charger pin on your P1i, and enjoy, but be sure, your battery drains very fast...
I suggest using Moto S9 headset, as it works perfect.
I've had now for a little over 2 weeks, and I'm loving it. The Wi-fi is impressively good. The Opera Browser works quite well with most pages I've visited.
The Video Capabilities are also impressive. It plays MP4 videos, with no lag. They do have to be converted prior to usage though since they need to be of a certain size, but there are plenty of apps out there to do the job. I use Plazera for it.
The main screen icon customization is fantastic as you can use your own icon images on the menu.
MP3 player works quite well. The built in speaker is nice and loud.
It reads Word and excel files direct without any conversion and can edit them as well.
You can use the provided USB cable to plug it into your computer and its recognized as an actual drive. So you can drag and drop files with ease.
The mem card limit is not bad, but they should have made it a little bigger. 4GB these days isn't as much as you think.
My only disappointment is the proprietary earphones. I was hoping it would have a standard earphone jack, but unfortunately ity doesn't. so you need to either buy a converter or use the provided earphones/hands free device.
Also the FM radio requires the earphones to be plugged in otherwise it won't operate.
Overall a great phone. And its 3G ready.
sideways, 05 Aug 2008is it nessary to use the stylus? would constant usage of your finger affect the touch screen? ... moreThe Stylus must be used in certain applications since the touch screen doesn't work as well in those applications such as the Office suite.
Also, sometimes it's easier to use the stylus when texting especially if you're not used to the keypads yet.
