The P1i is a brilliant phone. I have had mine for over a month and it has never crashed. It is definitly more stable than the P990i. The only disadvantage for me is that the 'find' function in the contacts menu which is in the P990i was not carried over to the P1i. That is a very powerfull function which should not have been omitted on a business oriented phone. I am sure the Nokia E90 has that function but the phone is too bulky.
Is it any Scanner inner P1? My local newspaper in Ind tell that. It is for scanning business card.
IT's loud and clear enough to enjoy listening to music with your friends in a gathering.
Its qwerty keyboard is fun but you need a day or two to get used to it and know how to type with it fast. About the T9, P1i has T9 too. So if you've problems with its qwerty, you may be able to use its T9.
I m going to buy this phone tomorrow. Can anyone tell me the disadvantages of this phone
the p1i stands for international[english] n the p1c stands for chinese version
Hello P1i owners,
I think mine has a problem. When I use the camera the image on the screen viewfinder appears in slow motion if I move around (very bad refresh rate, especially in dim light conditions). This surely didn't happen with my P990i! Help please Thanks in advance!
i got one and im loving it...
anybody know where i can find free games and software for the phone?
The navigation key(JOG DIAL) is the best thing Sony has got. Its makes things easier.
And the QWERTY keyboard frankly speaking its a pain in the starting but when u get used to it its eas and fast to type.
Does anyone know whether you can do day to day tasks like texting and phoning without using the stylus? And are the menu icons big enough to use you finger instead of the stylus? I like the phone, and am thinking of getting on, but don't want to have to always use two hands to operate it all the time.
oh my god...! i superb loved this phone...! very stylish and handy..will buy soon...!
is it possible to install skype and msn messenger on this phone?thx a lot
Ive had this phone for a week and it seems to crash every other day. I updated to the new software and it still crashes. Has this happened to anyone else.
QWERTY keypad function reply...
THe keys are depressed & rocked left or right to select the corresponding letter on the L or R side of the key. Numbers are in the middle. (*) selects predicitve text for the letters keyed. Compared to 3-letter keypads & T9, this is much more awkward to use well with 1 thumb. If a download or setting exists to make a less acurate key stroke work for either letter in predicitve text (like a normal 12 key pad), it would be a huge improvement for users with larger hands.
does the p1 have blackberry connectivity? P990i and the nokia E90. pls let me know. cheers
Berlin (Germany) - Sandisk announced today that it has developed the industry's first 8 GB Memory Stick Micro, a fingertip-sized memory card used primarily in cell phones.
The 8 GB Memory Stick Micro (M2) card pushes the capacity of the format to the same level as the highest standard among other similar formats. Most flash media cards currently offer 8 GB as the largest size available, although a 16 GB SDHC card was recently announced.
The M2 format is used mostly for cell phone storage but has not gained nearly as much attention as the competing microSD format. M2 cards are used almost exclusively in Sony Ericsson phones. The Memory Stick format was created by Sony and is used proprietorially in other Sony Electronics divisions.
Sandisk, the largest supplier of flash memory cards, was also the first company to produce 8 GB microSDHC cards, which became available earlier this year.
Sandisk says the new Memory Stick Micros have been shipped to phone manufacturers and mobile service operators for evaluation.
